No....that isn't my point at all.

The point is that doing so doesn't always protect a player for the coming season. Fact is it's a crap shoot. Lotta starters around the league are playing pre season games just fine. Others get protected and get hurt right away.

Not gonna sit here and argue with you about it.
And yet you are sitting here and arguing about it isn't that odd someone who says they don't want to they are there are more teams with veteran players that did not start any of their veterans in preseason and yet you're gonna stay here with this nonsense you know why a lot of them started them there's about 16 teams with bad quarterbacks young quarterbacks freshly drafted quarterbacks or completely newly installed offenses and defenses and they needed to play their players that is not the position we are in...... So I can give a flying monkey what some of you think our season head coaches should have done because they did what they thought was best for the team so until you own one I'm gonna go with their opinion

I don’t think the Rams, Chargers, Vikings, and Bengals played their guys either. Since I have the Ticket I will watch their games and see what is up.
There were more teens than that and I think most of the people who have veteran quarterbacks in a seasoned veteran team that hadn't made any major changes was it worth the risk some teams do but I guarantee if somehow preseason narrative was if you play your starters at least 50 snaps you're going to the Super bowl all teams would then just play their veterans the whole entire preseason that is not the case it's a bunch of nonsense our fans would love to criticize coaches and ownership just like to come on here and whine and complain they just laugh to complain about something

It guarantees they're all gonna be there to start game one that's the point it would really suck to lose a major key player before game one if you lose them in game one that's just bad breaks ain't no way that this place would allow the quote the coach and the owner off the hook if somehow a major player went down in the preseason game they would backtrack and all of a sudden the narrative would change that's the problem you can't risk your best players in a meaningless game when you know it has no real big meaning to play them 20 snaps in the big picture of a 17 game season plus the playoffs..

How about we see how the whole 17 game season goes and the postseason how about that how about game one just about every team and all its players are gonna need to get into that rhythm and game shape because it's gonna be the first full game for any of those players most of the starters sit preseason how about you get that?

Also how about this how about you get on board with the fact that I think a coaching staff with the experience hours have can make a decision that they think is best for their team and I'm gonna trust their decision over yours and the fact that there are damn team has got over 1000 snaps this off season and you have Prescott and a bunch of guys in his field in his backyard had worked out during the offseason these are things you don't take into account they've got far more work on the practice field then they would in preseason they stay in shape year round this is today's athlete not your grandfather's athlete they have nutritionists dietitians private chefs trainers they hit the gym daily I mean I don't understand why you think that that's not enough to get ready for game one when somehow high school and college don't have preseason and they seem ready I mean they think it's enough..

But go ahead coach Ron Washington let us know how you know more than our coaching staff you don't think Dan Quinn Mike McCarthy and this entire staff has ever ran a team before and don't know their players I mean you have to play a 60 minute game with a break at halftime with normal live action in order to be in game shape and that only happens game one all teams are gonna be slightly rusty and slightly not in a 60 minute full live game shake every single team there is no proof whatsoever that playing in preseason gets you a championship ring or we play every single damn preseason game with our starters got it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How about that rant I don't need no sleep aid I need to stop here and ridiculous comments from ridiculous know it all fake Internet coaches fake Internet GM's people who think they know more than the actual professionals who spend 90 hours a week doing this their entire life!!!@@!!!!:huh::thumbdown:

How about that rant now take that it's sticking in your pocket and keep it for safe keeping it doesn't matter how they come out in game one it matters how they finish game 17 and in the playoffs that's why they're sitting in preseason we saw Prescott play game one in 2021 and dropped 500 yards on Tampa Bay we lost the game but had nothing to do with rust they were the eventual Super Bowl champion last year we lost to the same Tampa Bay team cause Kellen Moore who was let go for this use the same game plan from 2021 even though we had a completely new offense full of new players and should have ran the ball more and didn't of course just like the last game had nothing to do with rust it was a dumb game plan it was a completely new set of players..

To take that and stick it in your pocket... I ranted on purpose because you want to tell me what I shouldn't shouldn't do that's what we'll see I'll see you and talk about this in February because game one does not have any big bearing on the season given 16 teams will win and 16 teams will lose...

Do you remember we started three and five and 2018 ended up 10 and six went to the second round of the playoffs it is not how you start it is how you finish that is why they're keeping our veterans from getting hurt before a real game is played...!!!! NEXT

It's called talk to text and if you don't want it read it it means you're not serious and that you actually lose this debate because you can't handle the facts those are all facts.... Again you lose

I know it seems like an awful lot of injuries across the league this preseason with guys getting carted off the field straight to the hosp and the Cowboys losing two very promising young players for the season

Having said that I see guys like Trevor Lawrence Geno Smith Calvin Ridley Ettiene among others playing pre season vs Dallas . I just hope Dakota doesn’t come out all amped up in New Jersey in a few weeks starts flinging around Incompletes or INT’s or someone pulls a hammy from lack of playing time .

The Raiders game I suspect guys on the bubble will get all the PT and starters will get more vacation time .
This is exactly what I worry about due to lack of preseason playing time. Injuries. Because we're going from practice, straight to full speed.

We are 1-4 in our last 5 season openers. The loss last year cost us a shot at the one seed. Every game is critical and nobody else is running another Camp Cupcake, which worked out so well for us the last time we did it.

My whole life of watching football and every team got starters their reps in preseason except the recent Dallas Cowboys. Starters getting work in preseason is still the norm across the league.

Perhaps Mike does not know what he is doing here or it wasn't his call, but ordered by Jones.

I won't accept 3-1 when the reason for the loss was our own stupidity in not getting ready and it helps cost us a one seed and home field advantage.
This game against the Giants won't be easy either. They are no longer a crap team. I hope we don't come out like we did last year.

Oh no you have geniuses here who think OTA’s and lifting weights is the same as a live action game . And they use 5k word rants to try and convince themselves

Exactly! That’s why you shouldn’t take chances playing starters in meaningless preseason games!

Right . Bryce Young cost the Panthers gold in the first round he’s flinging around TD’s last night . Geno Smith getting timing down under live action vs Dallas . Etienne running against Dallas . You shouldn’t go straight out of Oxnard to East Rutherford .

Why do guys continue to clamor for starters playing in meaningless preseason games.
Most fans are worried we’re going to look awful in the opener like we did last year after not playing our starters in preseason. When you have a new offense and a new number 2 receiver, you need a few live game reps. We’re so fearful of injuries. we’re not even going to play our backup QB tonight, who could use some extra live game reps. We should have given our starters at least a couple of series in preseason. Yes, injuries are a risk, but you have to have your team prepared and ready. Being so over protective of players is probably why we end up with a lot of injuries anyway.

I remember that stinker against Tampa. I think the offense racked up 3 points . Wasn’t enough . Dallas couldn’t hold them to just a safety or pitch a shutout .

I'm hoping no bad injuries for the first game since that game will be first true starter test at game speed....I'm hoping Dak is right on with his timing....we shall she....looking forward to the season but that first game worries me because of lack of playing time for all the starters....
