Lack of Tackle Depth!

We heard about Steele's struggles yesterday in the joint practices, this is nothing new. He is what he is, a good run blocker that is maxed out as a poor pass protector. Doesn't mean that cannot succeed with him as a starter, Doug Free had a similar skill set. Good news is that Guyton appears to be having a strong camp, his biggest concern can he stay healthy?

Also have heard that Bass is getting a lot of snaps with the 1's at LG. This could mean that Tyler Smith might be the team's #3 Tackle if they decide to use their 5 best lineman.

Thomas reportedly has taken a step back this season and Shelton needs to get stronger. Haven't heard much about 2nd year tackle Cornellius.
Starting in Zack Martin's rookie season, they had him cheat over towards Doug Free.
-Martin would alignment something like 6 inches over towards Free instead of being evenly split between OC and RT.
- Free could then overset to the outside because there was less space for Edge rushers to cut back inside.
- They could do it because Travis Frederick didn't need help.
- It actually put a big strain on the RG because Frederick couldn't help him as much.

Imagine being an Edge rusher that jumps inside of Steele and gets flattened by Tyler Booker.

I thought everyone knew that when they say he’s doing great that it’s against his own team mates. Doing great against the Rams in the scrimmage means something.
Look man don't get triggered I meant we really can't evaluate him right now because all we can see is him really against backups against the Rams he didn't face Miles Garrett He didn't face any hungry game plan the defense I'm saying great for him that so far he's doing what he's supposed to during practice but when the speed steps up the competitive nature of the game and the game plans and they go after him because they feel like he's the weak point in the line then we'll see how he does consistently not one game we'll just see over what the average is the full season so again don't get triggered I meant what I meant I know what you meant and I still say that my comment holds true...

Still has a lot left to prove..

Seems like you’re the one that is triggered.

No I don't think so I think that you got somehow triggered because you wouldn't have responded that way if you just would have read what I read and took it as is but you had to quote it and show me how I was wrong in my response and I'm telling you I'm 100 percent correct the dude hasn't proved a thing until he does I hope it starts in pre season II don't think they're gonna pull this guy out and just wait till the season starts he needs to play at least the first half of every single preseason game and let's see what he's got...

They are not going against better competition right now there are no game plans I don't know if you understand that look I'm glad he looks OK in practice I'm glad he's doing well and it seems like he's progressing but when the speed picks up and the game plans start coming at him and they start targeting him that's when you'll know because that's what they do,

Remember that Atlanta game What was that left tackle's name again I might have to think about it it's too early in the morning on a Saturday but you remember they just kept coming and the coaches didn't even pull the poor guy out and when they finally did the next guy in they just kept coming they had like eight or 9SACKS against our left tackles...

That is what happens in real life NFL games that count is things change they look at all this stuff from last year and they're going to look at Steele and Guyton and see who they can expose the most and they'll even be different than last year they're going to come at them even harder because the center of our line is absolutely a stalwart and they're not going to try to go through the middle too much..

It’s in the best interests of the Dallas Cowboys to find replacements at LT and RT.

Both are ranked near the bottom.
