Lacking killer instinct

No...I get your point.

It occurred to me...yet again...while watching our game and Tampa...how brutal and brutally competitive almost every game is.

And you see...right there is cause for concern by some fans. Are we competitive enough to beat a decent team like Tampa did with Bills? The Thanksgiving Day game says...maybe not. And I don't see why one is a evil pos for having those concerns.
Yes, we are. In case you forgot, TB lost to Washington. So I guess that makes Washington a "decent" team. They also lost to NO (so did GB), so NO is a "decent" team too that we beat.

I get it, we should have some concerns about our offense. That's obvious. But we are in no way out classed by any team in this league. With the way our defense is playing the last two weeks we will be in every single game the rest of the way, including the playoffs. If the offense gets back to playing like they did before Dak got hurt, this is a team that nobody will want to see in the playoffs.

It seems to me the Cowboys played two totally different halves of football both offensively and defensively. I can understand trying to save players like Zeke or those dealing with injuries. I'm more concerned with the coaches taking the foot off the pedal with the play calling. For the most part this team is a young team still learning. As a fan I want see my team go for the throat when they see blood. I think players want that too. Let's be honest, the last two game the defense created 4 turnovers and that's not going to happen every week. We should have WON the last two games my 30 points each. Championship team bury teams when handed the chance.
In our glory days, we put our foot on the throat by running the ball. We have o line issues, and our qb resists running when his arm is suspect.

The defense was pretty killer today.

The defense was real good but they began to relax some once we got the big lead and it appeared we had the game sewed up. Washington began making some plays and there wasn’t the same intensity.

We did not dagger the Raiders like tampa daggered the bills.
You can chose to ignore data points if you wish.
And bear in mind.....I said "maybe not"....not "not".
If we'd busted Raiders in the chops.....I'd be good. But we did not we shipt the bed. It's a fact.

You can keep bringing up the raiders all you want. It was a bad game, no question. Again, all teams have bad games. We punched the Saints in the mouth and put a dagger in them, we put a dagger in the Commanders yesterday with Gregory's sack/fumble. Those are two teams that beat the reigning champs this year. We are more than capable of putting the dagger into any team we play.

No. We had an injured Zeke and no Pollard. The situation we were in during the 2nd half was classic setup for a couple of big, time consuming drives that involve a ton of runs. Healthy Zeke and Pollard, the WFT fans are leaving to beat traffic by the 4th quarter.

I keep going back to it because you refuse to recognize it as part of our data base.

That's fine....we'll have to move on then

I've said it all along, WE SUCKED AGAINST THE RAIDERS!! You are refusing to acknowledge that other teams have had similar bumps in the road and you keep hanging your hat on the Raiders game.

Nope...I actually have acknowledged it.

I've made mention that people don;t qualify wins when handing out the super bowl trophy.

I think you may be missing my point.....it is not that we "sucked against the raiders". It's that we couldn't put that dagger in them in OT like Tampa did to Bills. Tampa had a TERRIBLE 2nd half...offense AND defense. But...when it mattered most.....the dagger went in.

So we shipt the bed against Raiders, and TRIED to give it away against. WFT. Not sure it's a good sign for us heading into the meat and potatoes.

Tampa game is a great sign that can make the play that wins the game no matter how they've previously played.

This may be too narrow of focus or too small sample size for you. I'm okay with that.

Bucs were winning 21-0 today and needed refs and OT to win. Do we still consider them a championship team or nah? Need to make sure my facts are correct when talking about champion teams to other people.

They just won a super bowl last year and their Qb has won 7 super bowls. So, they have credibility We don't.

Get your point but they were facing a legit contender. Our offense has been keeping every sorry team in the game. Just OK running game & QB should have cake walked yesterday's game.

I supposed our defense stepping up and making a play to seal the game doesn't count in your book?

I suppose so. Sure.

I guess the problem here is I am talking about specifics and certain plays....and you are talking about general whatevers that happen to come up.

It's quite alright. This kind of thing happens on internet discussions. Probably not much value in prolonging THIS one.

One thing I think we can agree on is 9-4 BABY! and let's go kick some Ginats behinds!

A legit contender? The Bills are 7-6 this season. Over the last 7 weeks they have beat the Jets, Dolphins and Saints. Losses to the Jaguars, Colts, New England and Bucs. If I called the Cowboys a legit contender you would throw a fit, but the 7-6 Bills who lost 6-9 to the Jaguars 3 weeks ago are legit contenders. Woof. Hell, the Red$kins are one game worse then the Bills and just as much if not more a contender then the Bills.

Fair response. The Bills have had some bad luck & they have not put it all together consistently. I'll give you that. But they have a dangerous QB and roster overall. I think they are capable of playing with anyone. We shall see if they get it together.

You're missing the entire point. It should have never been a one possession game in the first place. Washington does not have near the talent as the Cowboys. We were almost 100 healthy and were facing a 3rd string QB with backup receivers, a decimated offensive line with a 4th string center, A decimated defensive line with 2 of their best defensive players out, and a corner that they just activated from the practice squad, and they are within a touchdown with 4 mins to go? Get serious.

I'm not missing the point. Division games are wacky. We stepped up and made the plays we needed to to win the game. Period. I don't care that it was a 7 point win. Any win against a division rival is a good win. Yes, there are things to fix. That's rather obvious. But just keep winning and those things will iron themselves out.
