The most complete player to ever play the game. That is all
Ever?HeavyHitta31 said:The most complete player to ever play the game. That is all
I agree...I can remember him playing qb after their starter got hurt.Hostile said:Ever?
Naw. Guy named Sweetness comes to mind.

You've gotta be too young to remember Walter.HeavyHitta31 said:By the end of his career Tomlinson may not only be called the great RB ever, but the greatest player period.
And Payton wasnt as good a receiver as LT. Add to LT's blocking, receiving, and rushing ability his ability to throw the ball better than any other non QB in the league (an undervalued weapon) he is the most complete I've ever seen. There is nothing he cannot do offensively.

Walter could throw and did many times. He was the Bears emergency QB in fact.
He was a punishing blocker. Maybe the best blitz pickup RB I have ever seen.
He was also a good receiver out of the backfield.
I'm not saying LT isn't great and the best player in the NFL right now.blindzebra said:We've been down this road before.
There is a good thing about being old, it means you can make statements like you did and know what you are talking about.

A wise old cowboy once told me, "there are lies, damned lies, and statistics."HeavyHitta31 said:At this point in their careers, LT is ahead of Sweetness in rushing yards, rushing TDs, receptions, receiving yards, and receiving TDs.

If I were you, I'd drop this 30 yard slant now.

It's the ever part where he's simply off base. The trappings of youth.

But being ahead in every tangible offensive statistical cetegory speaks volumes.
HH, you're opening your mouth and changing feet. Stop before you get athlete's tongue.HeavyHitta31 said:If he was ahead in one or two categories, that would be one thing

Good point on the 16 game schedule. He probably is too young to remember they used to play 14 games instead of 16.blindzebra said:Watered down talent from having more teams.
16 game schedule.
Different rules helping the offense.

Walter Payton played for some of the worst teams in Bears History and was the only thing they had.
No one who is a fan of the NFL for more than your young lifetime is going to agree with you. You ought to wonder why rather than to keep on shooting off nonsense. For a change respect the History of the game.
It's the 30 yard slant all over again. You're in over your head.
Oh my gosh. You can't be serious.HeavyHitta31 said:Or, better talent because of better equiptment, better training, and more physically fit players who are bigger, stronger, and faster
And what different rules are helping RBs? WRs yes, but RBs?

In your mind Passing offenses being more wide open does not open up the run game? Seriously?
Unreal.
Simple. Ask anyone who is old enough to have seen both. 3 people on this forum who have don't agree with you. No one is rushing to your aid. Clue, no one is going to either.HeavyHitta31 said:And LT has played on some terrible San Diego teams in his career and he was all they had, what's your point?
