Some teams felt that Collins should be a guard in the NFL. Having him and Green there to replace Free and Leary (who knows hos long that knee will hold up) would be incredible.

In a salary capped driven league there are things you can pay for and then things you have to use cheaper talent on. When you pay for an offensive line and a top wr in the league you can't afford to go out and get a top paid rb. We do not need a top rb. I'd rather trade for a big name defensive tackle before I paid for a big name running back. We do not need a rb

you were never obsessed before this past season when Murray was hurt every year or we had Felix jones as our number one back and barber before that. No one ever wanted to get a top rb then?? Why now?? I promise they could have been upgraded then. We have a better rb situation now then we did both times before I just listed. Also we have a hell of a lot better offensive line now. Quit with the rb position we are fine

If we somehow got La'el Collins, would any of consider trying to trade Chaz Green for a rookie RB we liked?
A future later round pick might have be gained or lost depending on the player.
Langford for Green,for example.

I would say move Collins to play LG and now you got a mean nasty OL. chaz green is the swing tackle you need to have on the roster which we lost with Parnell.

Leary was said to have degenerative issues with his knees and that's why he went undrafted. we expected to get 2-4 years out of him at most and he has exceeded those expectations. but having Collins will only further strengthen a strength.

No, I don't think so. I think the team probably expects Collins to beat out Leary at LG, in which case, the team will still need a swing tackle.

They're both good young OL and cheap.

Green would have been probably picked earlier had he not had injury questions. Now, he can be the swing tackle and if he does get injured, Collins could do it in a pinch.

It is actually a perfect situation for the team to be in.

Maybe they can trade Gipson though, lol.

Green can play swing and guard. So no unless someone with a disgruntled superstar came to us with a offer we couldn't refuse.

According to reports, Green is nothing to crow about so I would have no problem trading him for a young stud RB.

Chaz Green can still be the swing man

the best Olineman will be on the field at all times. They have been pretty clear about that. So I would think they would give Collins reps at both tackle and guard. If Free were to go down and Collins and Green are on the bench, who do you think they are going to put in at Tackle? The first rounder, not the 3rd rounder. And I would think they would prepare Collins for just that contingency.

You info on Green is wrong and he won't be traded for a young stud RB.

LOL.......oh is it really? I have read several different write ups and all the opinions pretty much scratch their head at this pick. Dont hate on me pal, hate on the reports. I didnt write them. Would you like me to post them for you?

And you are definitely right, then he wont be traded for a young stud RB. Especially if other scouts on other teams agree with the report from the scouts that I read.

Green is very talented and has a long injury history that dinged him down in reviews-he missed too many games. Collins is obviously a better prospect, but that doesn't make Green any less worthy. Broaddus said that Green has 2nd round talent.

From everything I read, this was a questionable pick. People did not have him as a 3rd rounder. He was constantly injured and actually wasn't even a full time player. If you have some glowing report on this guy then please post it, I would like to read it. Because I havent read any.

It's bizarre how Florida used a tackle rotation, but go watch those games. It only reinforces how good Green was, because when the backup goes in it's a stark difference. Green was probably taken too early -- we'll never know if someone else would have taken him before our next pick -- but he was in my opinion hands down the best lineman available at that spot.

A whole round away (somewhere around 40 players) I think you would be a long shot to make it that long if he's best available. Certainly most talented swing guy there. Most of the others were RT types.

I've read the same reports. Most don't have a clue what the Cowboys plans are or what the Cowboys know about this player.

Bryan Broaddus is an ex-scout. Many of the guys he is referring to are not and never have been scouts. They also are unlikely to have access to coaches film either.
