It's bizarre how Florida used a tackle rotation, but go watch those games. It only reinforces how good Green was, because when the backup goes in it's a stark difference. Green was probably taken too early -- we'll never know if someone else would have taken him before our next pick -- but he was in my opinion hands down the best lineman available at that spot.

Good to hear. I personally am not over excited about the pick. Collins makes me drool, however.

Yes, the rotation was odd. I assume that other guy #55 was the guy that played when Green was injured. They probably wanted to keep him from getting rusty in case Green was injured again.

Both Green and Collins can play inside and out so there is no need to trade Green.

I think it does make a lineman trade bait. If I was the GM, I would see if I can get a Day 2 pick for Leary and start Collins at LG.

I doubt very seriously Chaz Green would garner a RB better than what we already have on the roster. The only 3 RB's I would consider potential upgrades are Gurley, Gordon or Coleman...and I doubt very seriously any of them would be traded straight up for Chaz.

We could have had Coleman for Green and Wilson...... and no, I'm not letting it go

Some teams felt that Collins should be a guard in the NFL. Having him and Green there to replace Free and Leary (who knows hos long that knee will hold up) would be incredible.

2015: Smith - Collins - Fredbeard - Martin - Free
Green - Leary - Bernadeau - Leary - Gibson

Leary will be gone in 2016 and DAL will be collecting another COMP pick for 2017 - or can DAL actually hold onto Leary and the aging and more expensie Berny depart?

Don't trade ANYBODY!

2015 opening day starters: Smith/Leary/Fred/Martin/Free. Bernadeau and either Collins or Green are active on game day.
2015 eventual starters: Smith/Collins/Fred/Martin/Free. Bernadeau and Green active on game day.
2017 starters: Smith/Collins/Fred/Martin/Green. Probably will have a new backup center by then, and Gibson is the swing tackle.

Of course, a lot depends on Free's health. We could have Collins or Green opening the season at RT.

Don't sleep on Gibson. He needs some coaching and a little weight work, but he is a prototypical NFL tackle.

I love this draft. I'm even stoked about Swaim. Another monster blocker to put in front of Romo & Co.

The competition between Leary, La'el and Green will make all of them better than they might have been if it weren't for this new influx of talent. I couldn't be happer if I tried. Betcha the C'boys' OL feels exactly the same.

No way. If we sign him, we could asseble the best OL in the NFL for years to come, and for a bargain.

Fair enough.
But where would Green play long term?
Also, would you have used that 3rd rounder on him anyway?
Just an honest question

Free will retire eventually. When that happens, La'el should move over to RT and either Green or Leary could could take over the LG spot. Green needs time and experience to develop fully anyway. He won't go to waste if he's worth what the staff thinks he is.

If he ends up an All-pro LG like Zack Martin at RG, then leave him be.

I think Collins in 2015 will play more snaps at RT out of necessity due to injury. But having too many good OL is a good problem to have.

The average is 9 OL on the 53. They kept 10 and they kept 8 but most often it has been 9.
