This should be looked at more closely. I've started watching last year's team now in more detail and really- Leary was a visceral improvement at the point of attack.

Yep, on a team with Zack Martin and Travis Frederick it's funny that La'el got the LA comparison.

Based on the OP's logic, I'll say Jermey Parnell reminds me of Erik Williams.

One funny thing to think about: Larry Allen was probably faster than Barry Church.

That being said, either way nothing compares to how people viewed Church from 2012-2014. He came out of the offseason going to that speed training camp and won the starting job over a bunch of crap and by the end of the season Eatman was writing about how he was snubbed for the probowl. People at ate that up. Year after year he was labeled as a probowl talent and Eatman was saying that mostly because Church made himself available for interviews and such.

Drove me nuts too because we were giving up big plays and his lack of range was a big part of that. Lots of people can tackle. Not many can run with NFL WRs.

Yes, many fans and some media eat the cheese that Eatman, Broaddus, etc. dish out.

Fans were claiming Doug Free was a "great" run blocker. He was functional run blocking in this scheme, but not remotely close to great. Fans got the idea from Broaddus and Mickey and 1 comment that Aikman made on a play.

Collins will have single plays this season that are so dominant that it will remind us of Larry Allen.

However,

He will also have single plays that will make us fondly reminisce on Doug Free's 2016 season.

La'el's game features wild swings between the good and the bad. He's a rare breed that literally can pancake two defenders in one play. Then utterly whiff a few plays later.
