I'm all for relentlessly bashing our guys whenever they make a mistake but come on.

La'el being off balance and thrown to the floor is something i'm not going to get too upset over. This kind of stuff happens and is why coaches would point to us fans not knowing what we are talking about.

There is several fights to pick with Tyron and La'els play this year but this is not one of them.

They are the mental mistake brothers more then the physically can't do it brothers.

I have a bigger issue of guys missing assignments and using **** technique then getting beat physically.

This is wrong, the reason he gets knocked to the ground is because his pad level is too high. Watch the difference in his technique vs that of Martin's in the GIF, Collins is using awful technique which is why he gets beat. He's often lazy in his technique which along with his poor footwork is a bad combination for the tackle spot. He needs to go back to Guard where technique is a bit less important and he can rely on his natural strength and athleticism.

Tyron is still a top 20 T. Collins is probably in the bottom third but towards the top of that bottom 3rd. Not great, but not horrible. He’s probably the definition of average. He’s a better G probably but he’s not going back there. You certainly let Collins walk when his time is up.

His assignment here is to help Martin combo block the DT; specifically Collins is there to stand up the DT and get his shoulders off square so Martin can neutralize him and then he has to bounce back out to cover LBer for the run to his side...he gets knocked on his butt by the LBer due to poor technique in finishing the play.

Per PFF through week four: On average, veteran offensive tackle Tyron Smith is allowing a pressure once every 45 pass-blocks. This is second to only Andrew Whitworth so far this season.
That's not a grading system, that's a fact. Yes, we've had three other games since then but if you're trying to tell me that he's completely collapsed in his last three games since this then you're full of it....which you likely are.

I'm not debating whether you're right or wrong.

I'm just saying you'll drive yourself crazy getting upset over a play like this.

My problem with La'el is technique like you said and most of all assignment recognition.

I'm not going to get wound up over a play like this because he is not going to consistently get thrown to the floor by linebackers.
