Lamar Jackson?

You guys can make much fun of me later if I'm wrong(Like you wouldn't anyway!!!), but Jackson shows all the signs of a flash in the pan. I want to see sustained success and playoff success first. He was horrific last year in the playoffs, let's see if that improves.
I think he will come down to earth, but he will be an excellent QB. What he is doing as a QB is night and day from what he was doing last year. Tells me he put in serious work on his own time to improve. I never bet against those guys.

I think he'll go more along the line of Vick's career. The last two seasons before the suspension, Vick's Falcons were 8-8 and 7-9. The NFL had figured him out, and he became a .500 Qb. That's what I see w/ Jackson. I don't believe he possesses the passing skills to dominate.

I've nothing against the kid, BTW, and I'll be more than happy to laud him if he becomes the excellent QB you think he will.

Like I said in the other Ravens/Lamar thread, I haven't watched him play yet. Not sure if they've even been a choice locally or if the other game interested me more.

I've got him on my radar now.

Lamar is unbelievable, what a season he's having, definitely the favorite for MVP right now. He does have a great defense and coaching staff giving him an advantage that Dak doesn't have.

Dak is truly carrying an entire team + inept coaching staff. If that doesn't fit exactly (and then some) what an MVP is, then I don't know..

I couldn't have said it better. Their coaching staff is getting the best out of their players with a gameplan best suited for their personnel. I didn't even think Lamar was an NFL QB and now I think he's in the lead for MVP. On the other hand Dak has to improvise to get around our coaching staff.

Ouch!!! That's funny. Sadly funny!!!!

I think the Ravens lose tonight. The Rams need this game way more than the Ravens do. Plus there's that LA bias.

So was Mahomes. Next season someone else will emerge.

I agree. Nobody has ever seen this offense. It will take DCs an offseason to figure out how to blow it up, though I wouldn't be shocked if Belechek has already adapted and just waiting for another shot.

I think he's Vick 2.0 and theres nothing wrong with that.......fun to watch.

Most run first QB's (in college) try to prove that they can be pocket passers in the NFL and that's how they end up in a two year slump. I don't expect that from this guy. He'll just continue to do what needs to be done to win.

I lived in Atlanta during Vick playing days and can see why some make the comparison but trust me this is light years better.

This kid is showing he's a legit NFL QB with RB speed. Hell, he's on pace the shatter all QBs rushing yards records for a career in one season.

When the injuries pile up on him, that's when you'll find out the QB he is.

You don't last in this league with his play style. It just doesn't happen.

Jackson really has the perfect team around him and his skill set matches what they need. He throws a great deep ball and can run which compliments their speedy receivers and their bruising line. I don’t think he’d be doing the same things in Dallas.

Dude is making our running back look bad, I know that lol...

I usually say QBs that run that much is a really bad bad idea...

I dunno with this guy, dude can throw too. He doesn't need to throw for more than 190 something yards like he did, when he is making nearly 100 with his legs...

Talk about screwing a defense up... how do you stop that crap?

never knew this kid was like that heh... Defense just can't cover it all. Too spread out, trying to watch the pass, and contain if he runs...

Dak has one of the very best lines
A great RB
And one of the best WR groups

Almost no QB is surrounded by a better offensive supporting cast

He's playing well, but he sure as hell isn't “carrying” them

I agree with who think maybe Dak should run more.
But a QB runs about a 4.8 (4.79 for Dak) is not in the same galaxy as one running a 4.3 (Jackson)

One of the best WR groups? you mean the one leading the NFL in drops? ok
A great RB? you mean the one that has monumentally regressed? ok
A great o-line? they used to be great. they're probably more on the good side of the spectrum. too many costly penalties, missed assignments, and overall poor execution

funny how you left out the poor defense too. nice cherry picking

  • O line is ranked 1st in pass protection and 2nd in adjusted run blocking
  • Zeke is Zeke. The whole league would love to have him barring a team or two.
  • Cooper, Gallup, Cobb......one of the best groups

and yet, the running game has been non existent for the most part this entire season, thus, Dak doesn't have that benefit (Lamar does).

speculative.

maybe against tomato cans, but when they go up against better defensive backs they disappear. especially WR #1. Dak can't catch it for them too.

why didn't you address the fact that Dallas is at a severe disadvantage coaching wise? Baltimore has an elite coaching staff.
why aren't you addressing the fact that Baltimore has a far superior defense than Dallas?

that's a lot of support for Lamar. I still think he deserves the award, but it's really not debatable that he has a far better supporting cast than Dak.
