I just said I want to see them bring in competition and try to find the next guy. What are you not getting here?

I just think your solution of throwing gravel against the wall and hoping for the best is a bad one. It's just illogical, drama-filled hopes and dreams that would more than likely be a total disaster. You have to scout/draft, continually look. If you are 100% sure about a guy in the draft.. OK trade up and get him but there is just as much of a chance of busting like the 49ers did also...You can't do that often.

..and NO I do not want to go through those post Aikman years again. Give me Dak and a FO that tries to build a great team and makes moves to develop the next guy. Hopefully Lance is the next guy but it's going to take some time.
You say that, but then you whine about the "unknown" of bringing someone else in.

You're comfortable in the mediocrity Dak brings so much that you don't want them to take any chances at all.

You don't know Mahomes is Mahomes unless you take that chance on him.

You will NEVER draft the next Mahomes if you tie yourself to a bum like Dak or Romo for 15 years now.

We already know Prescot is a loser of meaningful games and know upper management is going to attempt to replace this loser with another proven loser???????? This is why for 3 decades this organization hasn't been to the big dance..................
Lance is an unknown commodity.

Dak is a proven loser.

Give me the unknown.

I know how the season ends with Dak as our QB.

Lance is a lottery ticket. Nothing more.
This is true. But sticking with Dak is like working a 9-5 expecting to be a multi-millionaire. It will take too long if it ever happens. That lottery ticket...as long as it doesn't cost too much and you don't do it that often...might be worth it.

You see me whining about Lance? I am not at all. Smart move and glad to see it for the price. Need to develop young talent at the position. It's a good problem to have if Lance pushes Dak up or out if he can't handle the heat. No problem with it.

Certainly not comfortable at all in mediocrity (we really aren't mediocre now) and it sucks not getting to the Super Bowl in almost 30 years. I am just not histrionic about it enough to hate the team or player that much that'd I'd be happy to see the
dark times return. I don't know what to tell you but we'll never agree on that and I think you are in the lower minority there partner.

AND I do know that 99.9% of all QB's are not going to be Mahomes even future ones drafted. He's a generational talent. The Chiefs are going to win multiple more SB's because of him and the team they built. There are other ways to win though
and the Cowboys are in a better position than they've been in a long time because of the Defense.

Dak can't be pushed.

Talent and skill cannot manifest where it does not exist. Lance will not bring anything out of Dak. He is who he is.

Dak fans equate dumping Dak with "dark times for the Cowboys returning" lolololololol That say's a lot, ya know? That's how highly you think of Dak.

We are 5-1 with Cooper Rush for crying out loud, but if Dak gets dumped it's back to "dark times" lololololololol

LOL.. without a viable QB it will be back to the dark times for certain. Back to my original question, who are you going to legitimately replace him with? Until that is answered, Dak is here to stay buddy.

You think so highly of a Dak that if we dump him we're "back in the dark times" lolololololol

Dak fans are not Cowboys fans.

Who would I replace him with? ANYONE. He is a loser and loser can be had for much cheaper.

Lulz..."ANYONE". That's the limit of your football knowledge? Comical. It's pretty clear you aren't willing to have a reasonable discussion.

You just assume anyone that doesn't totally agree with you about Dak is a Dak Homer and not a Cowboy fan. Pretty histrionic acting.

I guess I'll leave it as this to make you happy. OK, we are all not Cowboys fans because we don't hate Dak or don't want him immediately replaced with an unknown option. We get it. :lmao:

When you equate dumping Dak to "back to dark times for the Cowboys" you kinda remove all doubt on where you stand.

We aren't on the same team here.

I'm fine with that and you should be too.

I'm fine with it. I just think without a true viable replacement you don't dump your proven top 10 NFL QB for "ANYONE" and expect it to go well. Your argument just doesn't make sense to me. Yes, we'll have to agree to disagree for sure.

If Jerry is dumb enough to “ extend Dak “ past next season what gives you the impression Trey Lance is the “ future “ ?

Watched highlights of Lance from a San Francisco 49ers fan evaluating film on his last two preseason games. Lance looks the part of a NFL quarterback but does not read defenses at all. Blitz packages kill him and his mechanics. I don’t think the Cowboys are the right team for him because the kid needs to play. You can see he has limited quarterback snaps. I think he would perfect for a team like Atlanta. They are a below the radar team and he has more talent then Ridder. Unless Dak is injured, he will never get the practice snaps or game reps that will be needed for him to excel.

Lance could be a starting QB for the USFL or XFL by 2025. He may not be here any longer than he was in San Francisco if he doesn’t at least show he can be a solid backup.

Wow! That was quick from getting beat out by Sam Darnold to becoming our starter while yet to prove he can even play in this league.

Yeah he wanted a chance to get reps but how does that happen here? He’s a distant third. Frankly if Grier stayed, Lance would be a fourth.

He'll get a lot of reps next pre-season barring any injuries to our two QB's.

Smart move giving up just a 4th for a QB that has first round ability; albeit yet untapped. The Cowboys wanted to draft a developmental QB back in April but the guys they wanted were gone. Lance is just 23 and even has (limited) NFL experience that a rookie does not have.

Lance is no more a gamble than Aiden O'Connell, Max Duggan, or Stetson Bennett would have been. The potential return on so little an investment is tremendous. If Lance flops so what? He was worth a try at the cost of a pick the Cowboys would have used on who? The next Josh Ball?
Why does everyone believe he has first round ability? Yes he was drafted in the first round, but his college career doesn't necessarily scream first round talent. He only played 1 year and that wasn't against top CFB programs.

Yes the team he played on went undefeated...yet they had a 39 game winning streak of which he was only part of 16 of those wins. The team was good enough to win 23 straight games without him.

Fourth round picks lately in Dallas. Dak Ferguson Biadasz Schultz hello this is not a throw away round where you check the profits of your Papa Johns portfolio or acquire more art pieces while you throw darts at the 4th round draft board choices . A real player can be had . Add Tony Pollard Dorrance Armstrong to this 4th round list .
