Lance could be the starting QB by 2025 latest

Fourth round picks lately in Dallas. Dak Ferguson Biadasz Schultz hello this is not a throw away round where you check the profits of your Papa Johns portfolio or acquire more art pieces while you throw darts at the 4th round draft board choices . A real player can be had .
I'd rather send them a 2nd because it would be just as likely to be a wash. They have actually been decent in selecting 4th rounders. LOL

I think people are getting their hopes up. It would be nice if he could push for a starting job, but I’m not holding my breath. He could also just be the plan at a long term #2. We’ll see how it plays out when he has a few offseasons under his belt and gets to work with the coaching staff.

They saw Grier sailing passes into the opposing secondary and beyond Rush this position needed an upgrade . If healthy which Dak has had stretches where he’s out with injury but Lance is the eventual back up .

There are plenty of non-threads to post Dak Prescott-related comments. Dak Prescott comments in the gameday thread will be deleted. That may also hold true for Trey Lance comments.

Why does everyone believe he has first round ability? Yes he was drafted in the first round, but his college career doesn't necessarily scream first round talent. He only played 1 year and that wasn't against top CFB programs.

Yes the team he played on went undefeated...yet they had a 39 game winning streak of which he was only part of 16 of those wins. The team was good enough to win 23 straight games without him.
What that means is he carried a first round grade. In terms of size, arm strength, athleticism, mobility, intangibles, and leadership qualities, Lance ticks all the boxes. What he lacks severely is experience and reps, or any background in a pro style offense.

The 49ers are the ones that severely overpaid in terms of draft capital for such a raw, unproven talent. What he was probably worth was what the Cowboys just gave up- a 4th round pick.

Lance will probably have a red shirt season and act more as a scout team QB. Really believe he is that developmental QB they have been thinking about the last few drafts. We have zero idea of his projection until probably next season.

Lance could be a starting QB for the USFL or XFL by 2025. He may not be here any longer than he was in San Francisco if he doesn’t at least show he can be a solid backup.
I think you're right, he probably won't be here in 2025. I don't see us picking up his 5th year option.
