If Cooper Rush starts then they’re looking to win the game. If the game didn’t matter to them they would start Trey Lance.
There is no way that they want to win the game. If they win, I will point out what it cost them in each and every round.

1. I'll be drinking flat champagne from new year's. Just tested it, not bad, and totally appropriate for our last game.

2. Rush will still get his extra 250k bonus, even without the snaps, the team will round up and do him right (especially if he agrees to sign a cheapo)

3. There's a lot of meat left in the barn. Flat champagne began early.

I feel this could be a fluid situation.

They would probably be interested in getting Rush his bonus as a reward for being a good soldier.

I assume Justin Rudd and Eric Simonelli have the exact pitch count and will be watching the proportion if they want to get him his bonus.

I lean this way because this is a strong message to players and veterans on the team that the Cowboys take care of their own.

When they say Lance will get significant playing time what is this based against? In the regular season he has had just a handful of carries so it is not out of the imagination that they could secure Rush's bonus and give more regular season snaps than what Lance has had this entire season.

Or as other posters have said they might just go with Lance to secure the loss, and have another way to compensate Cooper.

I prefer option #2 because of the questions they could investigate in regards to what this team looks like next year.

Also I forgot if Rush is due a league performance bonus for outplaying his contract.

Well chat says:

The phrase “hay in the barn” is often used metaphorically to mean that the hard work has already been done, and now it’s time to reap the rewards or relax before the outcome is revealed. It implies that the preparation is complete, and there’s nothing more to do but wait.

For example:
• In sports, a coach might say, “The hay is in the barn,” to indicate the team has practiced and prepared thoroughly, and now it’s game time.

• In projects or life tasks, it can mean you’ve done everything possible, and the results are now out of your hands.

The phrase draws from farming, where once the hay is safely stored in the barn, the hard part of harvesting is finished.

Does Jerry know we’re out of the playoffs though?
Hay in the barn also means the hay, which has been cut and baled, is out of the weather, which is good because wet hay is subject to spontaneous combustion. I grew up in the country, we had some of our grass cut and baled, and we were always glad if it didn't rain before we literally got it into the barn...

Should’ve been playing after the team was eliminated from the playoffs.
Agreed, not sure how much good it will do to have him play a (except maybe draft position) at this point, no Lamb and playing with a patchwork line.

However he plays there will always be a question as to whether he played well, or bad, or in-between due to Washington not playing as hard as they could, or setting players, or other factors. Sort of like a pre-season game.

Oh well, hopefully he will play either great or terrible so his fans or foes here will have something to cheer about!

Probably won't be able to see the game, Saints play at the same bat time and same bat channel, here in Saints-land they get preference...

It will be funny if Lance, Vaughn, and Mingo win the game.
I mean...if they do it probably means that Rush would have won had he played
and fwiw, Washington needs to win this game to avoid Philly and play either TB/ATL or STL
Big difference between the opponents
