Lance was very disappointing

Positives:

His legs

He knew where to go with the ball

Went through progressions

Protected the ball

Negatives:

Ball Placement

Not anticipating his throws

Lack of touch on his throws

Let the Dak stans tell it, Stetson Bennett outplayed him…

Well..no picks is a plus with that many attempts.

Looking forward to compare his 2nd game against this one to see if there are improvements.

Athletically I underestimated him. He does have some wheels.
Definitely need to see some improvement in the next game.

Lance will be good as a mobile qb, he did run a few, but you can't do too many of those in the preseason. At least I hope that's the issue.

I think it's kind of good that a majority of his passes just seemed a little high. That's something that's usually correctable.

Trey Lance is not a raw rook. He is into his 4th NFL season. This was NOT his first preseason game to play in. Indeed he even has 4 NFL starts at SF. He looked awful raw for a player that has had that much experience. If he does not improve on today's performance very quickly he is about at the end of his NFL rope.

He looked average and raw. Looked afraid to challenge the defense and throw it between the numbers. OL and receivers didn't help but he didn't play like someone that had command of the offense.

Also McCarthy didn't call a game plan to put him in the best in position to be successful. Sean Payton had the perfect game plan for Bo Nix to leverage his mobility, Lance there the ball 40+ times.
On 4th and 1, when everyone things you will run, is putting him in the best position to throw a fade.

Granted he wasn't playing with top talent, but he wasn't facing top talent either.

He didn't do enough, and a lot of his placement with open receivers was a bit off.

Plus, he can't even throw a simple fade to a wide open receiver in the end zone. That 4th down miss was awful.

Lance is literally on the chopping block.
Did you watch the Oline that was in front of him????

39-50 454 yards 5 TD passes 2 rushing touchdowns.

That’s Daks preseason stat line from 2016.

These 2 guys aren’t comparable and never were.

If anyone is expecting Lance to start they are either delusional or just hate Dak so much they don’t care who starts as long as it isn’t him.
