You have made up your mind about Lance like the Dak haters with Dak. Ok…. Be you.
It's on film. What more do you need? Looks like you've made up your mind or are in denial.

Here. Watch some film. There's a big reason Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch gave up on Lance...

I saw a San Francisco 49er YouTuber who used film and said it was a mistake to trade him. Some experts agree with you some agree with me. We will find out soon enough. Again a 4th round pick on a top 3 pick is well worth the chance.

The fifth year option this year that was picked up in 2022 was 23m$. The fifth year option for Trey in 2025 will be close to 30m$. There is a 0% chance you’re paying you project backup QB 30m$
Dak scheduled to be a post June 1st cut in 2024. Lol

They have plans for Lance.

He won’t get nearly that on the open market assuming he doesn’t play any extended time so absolutely not
Somebody will pay him. If he shows a small glimpse that he can play

The Cowboys have routinely been a bargain basement type of franchise to deal with, unless the prospective player has a promising reputation. Trey Lance doesn't fit into that category, beyond any reasonable doubt. In fact, he might easily be considered the ideal prospect to sign quite affordably.

niners were rumored to be shopping him in April before the draft.

Yeah. Don’t get me wrong he was a disappointment in San Francisco but the reason they traded him is they are all in Purdy. I have seen reports that say Lance outplayed Darnold in the preseason games. So that report that Darnold beat him out might be false. Darnold just accepted the backup role. If you look at the San Francisco situation Lance lost his job because of injury. You know why Dak got such a big contract from Dallas in 21? The Cowboys had no other option but him. If Denucia played like Purdy, Dak would not have been tagged a second time. Once the coaches/players respect the new quarterback the old quarterback has to go. Like Bee queens, Romo, and now Lance.

I think y'all will be surprised how fast the development goes....
That's what everyone seems to be counting on. Because at face value, it's a wasted 4th round pick. Even if he develops into a good QB, there's no guarantee the Cowboys will benefit from it. If he turns out to be good, and we already paid Dak, can't pay them both. Best you can hope for is to get a better than 4th round pick in a trade. I'm not seeing the upside.

He will have his 5th year option exercise. They are going to train him to possibly see if he has trade potential to get value for him in the future or at least see if he can play here. Its a great move and worth the 4th round pick.

No! Just let the kid try to get to where he can play NFL football over the next two cheap years.
If he looks like a freaking super star, maybe you sign him to be your franchise QB. If he simply looks like he could be average at 25 years old, you let him walk in free agency to a team that sees he can still develop further and you pocket a nice draft pick.
