Jimmy did NOT develop it= it was around for quite a while. TO be blunt tom landry with the Giants really started the 4-3 an made Sam Huff the first real Middle Linebacker.

I clearly didn't say he developed the 4-3 formation. He did develop a defensive system known as the Miami 4-3. As you noted, the 43 was around for decades as a formation and other defensive systems.
