He's not recognized like they are but what he has done at his position in comparison to the rest of his sport is more dominating than what they accomplished to the next best in their sports.
Calvin Johnson is a stud WR and will be top notch for a while heath permitting but the odds are that he will not be the greatest of all time at his position. Even the season TD record Moss holds is for a full 16 games where Rice did it in 12 games and dealth with a strike during the season. Good luck to any WR that is rying to approach Rice for best all time at the WR position.
Trust me I understand everything you just put. My reasoning that Calvin can be the best of all time is his work ethic. Moss has no work ethic, so I rule him out playing past the age of 35. Rice played till he was 41 if I recall correctly. I'm not saying Calvin will play that long, but he will take care of himself, and with his ability he can put up some insane numbers.
This of course all relies on the fact that the Lions improve their team or he goes elsewhere.
