What Jerry Rice did statistically at the WR position throughout his career is so dominating in comparison to the 2nd best statistically at his position it even trumps what a Micheal Jordan (NBA) or Wayne Gretzky (NHL) have done in their respective sports career wise. He's not recognized like they are but what he has done at his position in comparison to the rest of his sport is more dominating than what they accomplished to the next best in their sports.

Calvin Johnson is a stud WR and will be top notch for a while heath permitting but the odds are that he will not be the greatest of all time at his position. Even the season TD record Moss holds is for a full 16 games where Rice did it in 12 games and dealth with a strike during the season. Good luck to any WR that is rying to approach Rice for best all time at the WR position.

Trust me I understand everything you just put. My reasoning that Calvin can be the best of all time is his work ethic. Moss has no work ethic, so I rule him out playing past the age of 35. Rice played till he was 41 if I recall correctly. I'm not saying Calvin will play that long, but he will take care of himself, and with his ability he can put up some insane numbers.

This of course all relies on the fact that the Lions improve their team or he goes elsewhere.

Fitz is the best Wr in the NFL without a doubt. When the ball is in the air He goes up and gets it and has Godly hands.

That one pass by Warner where Fitz had to come back to the ball and jump over two defenders was Pure Talent and skill. Owens would of given up and let the ball be intercepted.

I wouldn't take anyone over Fitz right now. When you can throw it to the guy in triple coverage and still expect him to come down with the ball, that is the definition of "unstoppable".

Despite perhaps getting more attention from defenses, I think his stats would be even more insane if he didn't play with Boldin.

You're right there is no way Owens makes the play. Which is why its hilarious that people call for Garretts head. Identical plays for Romo. Both 3rd down plays. Both bombs into double coverage. TO didnt even make an attempt to jump for the ball. Fitz jumped OVER two defenders and came down with it.

You guys ever heard of Randy Moss? The dude went up and caught a ball one handed over 3 people once, and in another instance caught a ball with his forearm in double coverage.

Fitz is bigger and tougher, but when it comes to making plays downfield, no one in the history of the league compares to Moss. Lynn Swann isnt even a close second.

Calvin is the best... but with Romo underthrowin him, he would make him look like Pat Crayton.

Warner makes Boldin and Fitz better. So does the playcalling.

Garrett and Romo make TO and Roy look worse.

Of course Moss is still probably top 3 in the league.

Fitz is a guy who is a factor in virtually every single game. It's just so hard to shut him down. If he doesn't catch a touchdown pass he probably still burned you for 100+ yards. If he didn't go over 100 then he probably still caught a touchdown pass or two.

I know...he was on my fantasy team. :laugh2:

Fitz is phenomenal, but these threads always seen to pop up right after Player X has a great game.

Fitz is great but I still think Andre Johnson is the absolute best wide reciever in the entire league.

Amen. 2 weeks ago, Ed Reed was the greatest safety who ever played football. Today no one is talking about him.

Fitz is incredible, but I would have to also include...

T.O. (when happy and healthy he is arguably the best WR in the league)
Steve Smith
Randy Moss

And I tell ya, keep an eye on Calvin Johnson. If they ever get their heads out of their hindquarters in Detroit, he will be a force.

Calvin Johnson had comparable numbers with Fitz this year while playing with 3 or 4 different qbs and oh yeah on the worst team ever.
