However these last 3 years are a totally different trend. Before these years only 2 out of 13 teams with the #1 seed won the Super Bowl strangely. But most years at least one team that was a #1 seed made it.

A rather small data pool.

For the three seasons previous to those, two were won by a 4th seed, one by a 6th seed.

2015-16: #1 Denver vs #1 Carolina
2014-15: #1 New England vs #1 Seattle
2013-14: #1 Seattle vs #1 Denver

2016-17: #1 Dallas vs #1 New England? Only time will tell.

You are usually the #1 seed for a reason. It's because you were most likely the best team in your respective conference. Are we? We shall see.

Thats probably because It was usually the Patriots or what ever team peyton manning was on that was the number one seed.

It's a big advantage having the #1 seed. They earned it and need to capitalize on it. This team is hungry. The coaches can remind them of 2007 to help keep them focused.

Bill Parcells used to schedule practices in a way that the players could not go out of town for any length of time. Wade Phillips allowed the players to get away from the game too long and they lost some focus and sharpness. I must add that it may not have been all coaching that cost us the game against the Giants. The 18-0 Patriots also lost to them in the Super Bowl.

We just need to keep working and fighting and hope that we play good football when the time comes.

That comes as good news -- let's hope that trend serves us well going forward.

If not, it's likely just a matter of time before we're destined get there as well. ;)

It will not ne easy.

The Giants will be ready for the postseason.

Why does it seem as though, whenever the Giants are on the ropes with their season ready to disinegrate, they revitalize themselves with an improbable victory against the Cowboys?

They did it in 2007, they did it in even more dramatic fashion in 2012.

They had lost 4 straight games and were 6-6.

4 games and 2 Cowboy defeats later and they are 9-7, division champions.

4 games later they are Super Champs again, having defeated the previously undefeated Patriots.

If the Cowboys had defeated them in either of their 2 December games then the Cowboys would have won the division.

In the first game, the Giants lead 37-34 with 6 seconds left, Pierre-Paul blocked a Bailey field goal. The Cowboys led that game 34-22 with less than 6 minutes in the 4th.

....sorry......didnt mean to stray from the subject.....there are those losses in our time as fans that sting more, guess I had to get that off my chest.

My point remains....the Giants can be the most dangerous possible test in the playoffs...and that would only happen in the divisional round unless both wildcard teams win. In that event, it could happen in the NFC championship game.

I firmly beleive that if they have to face the Giants and win, they will also win the Super Bowl. I beleive this is an all or nothing kind of postseason for the Cowboys.

Everyone says this like fact. what if Dallas didn't forget to play that day and the giants were just better and earned it?

I in fact do think that the Giants earned it.They weree the hot team going into the playoffs and they proved it by beating three very good teams in the Cowboys, Packers and Patriots. I too get tired of the Romo / Cabo blame, but I also think Jason Garrett will keep the team working through the bye better than Wade did.

People seem to underestimate the 2007 Giants. They finished the regular season 10-6 and lost to the Cowboys twice and the Patriots once. Their pass rush was devastating. Their offense had no real weaknesses. I believe their running game was called Earth, wind, and fire. The Giants were at least the 3rd best team in the NFC coming into the playoffs that year.

and the Big One is in the Texas so another home game.
Yeah, that's a great point. I was at the houston livestock show and rodeo last year, which is a big deal, and a lot more than a rodeo, i swear it was 2 to 1 Cowboys hats, shirts over Texans gear

The only thing about the Super Bowl is it's not necessarily going to be mostly people from Houston, or even Texas attending. People bought their tickets months ago. Although I'm sure a good amount will be from Houston.

This won't happen but Houston has the #1 defense, they smartly benched Assweiler and seem to have a good QB in there now, Dallas vs Houston Super Bowl? That'd be crazy. Then suddenly it'd be more like a road game for us lol.
