Last Minute Smack Talk

Google......Marion Barry. Not Berry.

Marion Berry is a US Representative out of Arkansas

Marion Barry is a crackhead mayor of DC who not only got videotaped smoking crack while on the job, they actually re-elected him a few years later.

Not beating you down Hos, just wanted people to google the right guy.

lol because we've already blown our chance with the Packers and would have to finish a full game in front of them and don't play them again. With them at 8-1 that looks unlikely.

No, Brett Favre, as good as he is playing this year, will have one of his special games where he blows it and throws int. after int.

He loses at least a game or two, single handedly, every year....

Thank you, my bad. Had I heeded my own advice...

We'll have the after the game smack talk.

We own the Skins. How many times have we beaten them over the last, say, seven years?

:laugh2:

I didn't like today's game or the way we played, but a win's a win.

Good game ! ;)

Good football on both sides and it wasn't boring!

I was worried! NFCE is always tough, and the RedStinks brought it!!! Damn good game...

;)

You're right...now the funny thing, actually the disgusting thing is that I have to root for you guys when you play the Lions and Eagles...that is if we start winning. If we don't it doesn't matter.

Our game against the Giants at Fed Ex could be HUGE. Hopefully we have Randy Thomas back by then.

53,000+ posts and that might have been my favorite.

Loved it. :D

The story I'm about to tell you is 100% true. It's also pathetic IMO. I once was told by a Commanders fan that their team name is derived from a "type of peanut that grows only in the area of the Nation's capital, and has nothing to do with a slight of Native Americans."

He was dead serious.

First of all, a simple research of peanuts will show you that there is no "Commander peanut." At least not that I have found, and "grows only in that area?" Forgive me, but where are the big peanut farms in Maryland or Virginia?

Second let's talk about the peanut logo on the side of the helmet. ;)

Third, before they moved to the District of Columbia in 1937, they were stationed in Boston as the Braves. Is there a Braves peanut that only grows in Massachusetts?

Fourth, apparently this guy and anyone who buys his rubbish have never heard of a study called etymology which discusses the origins of words. If you look up Commander it confirms it is meant as a derogatory slur of a Native Americans. Nothing about peanuts.

Finally, the most famous racist in the History of the NFL was owner of the Commanders, George Preston Marshall. Not only did he convince the other owners to bar Blacks from playing in 1934, in 1946 when the other owners changed their ways and allowed Blacks to play he still did not. It wasn't until 1962 when the Kennedy Presidency sent Stewart Udall to confront Marshall. They had to threaten to revoke his 30 year lease on DC Stadium, better known as RFK, which was paid for by government money. Uh, that means your taxes folks.

Yeah, it's about a peanut.

:lmao: Peanut logo................:lmao2:

Good read, Hos....

Was this posted on ES? I'm sure they went nuts! (peanuts) :lmao2:

Just seemed like there were quite a few of our Commanders members puffing their chests yesterday. I thought I'd give them a taste of one of my favorite posts from the archives. :D
