In the 4th quarter and OT, when there's no more than an 8-point difference in the score, these are the top 10 pass ratings among the 32 QB with the most attempts:
Code:
Romo 388 of 608 5204 yd 37 td 15 int 100.9
PManning 577 of 904 6731 yd 47 td 24 int 92.6
Culpepper 287 of 452 3680 yd 23 td 16 int 91.1
Brees 530 of 814 6102 yd 38 td 27 int 89.3
EManning 329 of 551 4392 yd 38 td 25 int 89.1
Roethlisberger 347 of 577 4395 yd 24 td 16 int 86.2
Schaub 295 of 470 3538 yd 17 td 14 int 85.4
Cutler 261 of 431 3129 yd 24 td 17 int 84.9
Palmer 337 of 558 3873 yd 25 td 17 int 83.6
Brady 467 of 786 5681 yd 35 td 25 int 83.3

The gap between Romo and the pack is bigger than the distance between 2nd and 8th. That gap will close when Rodgers comes back and plays in a late-and-close situation, because he is only a couple of attempts away from qualifying, and his rating is also over 100. But he has only a little more than half as many attempts as Romo in these situations.

The issue with Romo isn't the entire fourth quarter. It's at the very end of the fourth quarter. Where's that stat about most interceptions in the final four minutes of a close game?

It was great revisiting this thread and not because I like Tony Romo. It's because it has great give and take with no cheap shot drive-by remarks -- it's substance over style.

Because a guy like Percy has the passion and discipline to provide this type of comprehensive insight while guys like Calvin Watkins GET PAID as part of a career choice they made and virtually mail their stuff in providing no context or insight.

Because It's a credit to the Zone in general and Percy specifically that we understand more about the most important player on the field for us today than we knew yesterday.

Because it's posts like this why welcome here.

Same criteria but change the entire fourth quarter to just the last six minutes.

177-285 (62.1%), 2052 yards, 13 TD, 12 INT, 81.5 rating

Same criteria as above but only for the last four games of the season:

43-71 (60.6%), 525 yards, 4 TD, 5 INT, 72.8 rating

Score differential between -8 and 0, last six minutes of the game, last four games of the season:

37-61 (60.7%), 408 yards, 3 TD, 4 INT, 69.6 rating (24th of 40 for QBs with 30 or more such attempts)

QB rating means nothing, but if it did I would take the guy who has an 83.3 rating and 3 SB rings over Romo.

Hindsight is seldom wrong but nonetheless.... annoying in comparison.

And in the last 5 minutes how many times did he get us the lead only to have our D fold? Put aikman, staubauch, Marino, elway, favre in there... how many times did the get a lead late in the game more than once?

Til then you're shittin up a stupid hole.
