Latest NFL power ranking has Cowboys just barely in the Top 10

Just shows you how disrespected the Cowboys are no matter what they put together...They can't be playing like a juggernaut for the entire season then fizzing out in the playoffs like we have been then looking like some team that shouldn't belong...until proven otherwise, this is how the Cowboys are perceived....it also doesn't help we have the previous owners of KMart running the team and their blue light special dealings...

I'm not sure I am buying that. They have been near the top the last two years winning so many games.

Both seasons ended with poor QB play and I just don't see how their power ranking has any effect on that at all.

And it always seems when the hype is the most they also drop off the most. My point is more holistic that there seems to be a correlation with this team playing better when the expectations are lower, might just be my perception but looking at the last few years it does seem to be a sort of pattern

Peter King is an idiot and a hater. Always has been. Always will be. Sorry for sounding so ugly, but that guy is a bonafied Cowboys hater. I honestly don't understand why any Cowboys fan listens to that moron?

He seems to always have an East coast bias as well. I know he dislikes the Cowboys so I was surprised he had us in the top 10. His boy Cowturd has the Eagles winning the East by three games and thinks we will take steps back because KM is gone. Listen some talking heads especially on the national level thinks that Paper boy made Dak. I just don’t get how they keep underestimating our defense. It was elite last season with everyone returning plus former defensive player of the year and first round pick. The Eagles lose Hargrove and their top safety but replace them with draft choices so they are better. I didnt even mention the coordinators they lost. We have two head coaches on staff but somehow MM is an idiot.

PFF Power Rankings on 9/5/2022 - Just prior to the start of the 2022 NFL season:

1. Buffalo - A tad high but I could see their thinking
2. Tampa - worst regular season record of any team in playoffs - bounced in the 1st round - 8 wins
3. LA Rams - Didn't eve make the playoffs - 5 wins
4. Kansas City - just a tad low - Won Superbowl
5. LA Chargers - 10 Wins - 1st round bounce
6. Green Bay - Did not even make the playoffs - 8 wins and 3rd in their division
7. Denver - Did not even make the playoffs - 5 wins and 4th in their division
8. Cincinnati - Coming off a Superbowl loss they should have been higher
9. 49ers - Reached NFC Championship
10. Cleveland - Did not even make the playoffs - 7 wins and 4th in their division
11. Baltimore - Pretty accurate on this one
12. Dallas - a tad low on this prediction
13. Philadelphia - Tied for Best record in league and lost Superbowl
14. Arizona - 4 wins - complete trash
15. Indianapolis - 4 wins complete trash

The rest of the list is just as embarrassing so I will stop there. 4 of their top 10 teams did not even make the playoffs. They had 6 teams in their top 15 that had a combined win total of 33. Those 6 teams averaged 5.5 wins. They totally blew it on those 6 teams (GB, Den, Cle, Ari, Ind, Rams), blew it on Philly, blew it on Tampa, and didn't look great on the Cowboys, Chargers, and 49ers. So out of their top 15 picks they blew it completely on 8 and looked bad on 3 others.

Being 10 seems fine, but to be behind Baltimore, Miami, NYJ and Detroit is silly. Other than NYJ, none of those teams have made any significant improvements to be 3-5 games better than they were last year.

Dallas being 10th today is fine. They were probably 8th or so to end last year.
Wanna drop them 2 spots? I do not care.

Everyone will have new rankings a month into the season.

I personally believe Dallas is significantly better than they were to end last year.
The additions of Gilmore and Cooks lift them beyond any losses.
But I am definitely not breaking down 31 other franchises to rank them all.

The 90's teams we had, particularly the 92 team, had to earn respect. Nobody was taking us serious in the media as far as big games. We beat everyone we needed to that year .

I have never had any respect for Peter King as a football analyst. He is a "feeler" not a thinker. I am not sure he knows as much about the game of football as many of the fans. But he loves to talk about himself and who he rubs elbows with. I can't think of a time he has been right about anything.

So putting the Eagles over the Chiefs is ridiculous considering the Chiefs just beat the Eagles in the biggest game of the year and the Eagles appear to be a weaker team in 2023. But King is exactly the bandwagon rider who would anoint Jalen Hurts - until he no longer anoints Jalen Hurts.

On the other hand, I think the Jets are going to surprise a lot of people this year. They have a solid defense and all their offense needed was a QB. If Rodgers has any motivation left he will take that team pretty far.

But at the end of the day, these rankings mean nothing. Let's see who lines up at each position for all 32 teams when the season starts.

The 92 team was not respected until we beat Buffalo in the Super Bowl. The East coast media was all over the Eagles after they got Herschel Walker. The Skins and Giants were coming off Super Bowl runs so the Cowboys were actually picked to be last. We trounced the East and then San Francisco and the media still didn’t give us our props.
