"I see them beating Dallas in one of the Greatest NFC title games of all time."

Dallas then destroys SF 38-21 in a one-sided beat down.

That was my earliest memory of 49ers fan Peter King underrating the Cowboys as he would continue to do till today.
That is my all time favorite Team. Ive said it before, had Aikman not gotten concussed, they would have dropped 50 on the 49ers. They could not stop anything g they were doing. To me that team was the best as they were 0-2 and then proceeded to beat the brakes off everyone. They made SF look like a JV squad

It’s pure entertainment value . Just like being on social media or a fan forum.
very similar. Difference being, they get paid to lie and twist the truth to their own liking as if its the Gospel. They also wield enormous power and responsibility. They abuse those things daily. Most of us here are just average Joes and Janes largely.

Last offseason, despite the Cowboys shipping out Amari Cooper, the team was typically in the top eight or so of the rankings and considered a valid Super Bowl contender. This week, post draft, we have a power ranking from veteran NFL observer Peter King, and the Cowboys have slipped down to tenth in his ranking.

Whatever you think of the ranking, there is some interesting reasoning here about the Cowboys. Their offense can be on fire for long stretches, and along with a top-notch defense, they can rack up back-to-back 12-win seasons. But once they hit the playoffs against the 49ers, the offense fizzles.

The other side of that thinking might have been about Dak Prescott. The Cowboys likely believe, and with some pretty solid history to back them up, that Prescott will not be so careless with the football as he was in 2022. Not all of those interceptions were his fault, but he put the ball in danger too many times. The Cowboys are counting on him not making that mistake a second year in a row.

Other things about this ranking of note. King has the Eagles as the solid number one in his rankings over their Super Bowl nemesis, the Chiefs. Interestingly, King has teams like the Lions at number six, and the Dolphins at number eight. Even the Aaron Rodgers-led Jets have jumped to number nine. All that seems pretty bullish on some teams who are just now entering the upper echelons of the league.

Seriously! Cowboys were top 3 in the NFC, and tied for 2nd best record in the NFL last season. What the heck to pundits know?

My list:
1. Chiefs
2. Eagles
3. Bengals
4. Bills
5. 49ers
6. Cowboys
7. Seahawks
8. Lions
9. Jets

Any of these teams could win. Just depending on how it goes with health and whatever happens over 20 games.

It is what it is. I just don’t know how anyone can essentially bring back the same team and add Cooks and Gilmore and get worse…..
seems that other teams got better. rankings aren't static. if our team stays the same, we don't just inherit last years ranking.

That’s reasonable . After the top 4 we could jumble them several different ways .

My concern is I don’t think we can break thru that top 4. Good news is 3 are in AFC.

They can break through if things go their way with the new players and health.

The more I think about the media has always doubted the Cowboys. It just wasn’t on social media every two seconds. I lived in Commanders country as a kid. Dallas week was like a national holiday for two weeks out of the year.
Remember from way back in the 70's and 80's ...Washington being on tv in a home game at RFK Stadium. If the team had a big lead and assured to getting the win...if the Cowboys were the next opponent, the fans would spent the entire 4th quarter chanting "WE WANT DALLAS"
