In case anyone is wondering.

This is the latest FA signings, and no waiver claims yet, no OL since around August 20th, and those were no names,
https://www.nfl.com/transactions/league/signings/2022/8

Latest waived, no one claimed yet
https://www.nfl.com/transactions/league/waivers/2022/8

Teams hanging onto the OL for now. See what the next 2 days brings.
Maybe Vasher clears and gets on the PS.
Why? Vasher hasn't earned being here. He couldn't hardly get on the field in preseason. B. Smith has earned it and needs 2 be the guy. All he does is catch everything thrown his way and gets open.

I think they like Vasher as to his size, to develop more.
Yes I like Smith much better. He will be on the PS for sure over Vasher. I actually like Smith better than Houston. IMO Houston just one of those TC players fans latch on to like Rico and that RB Jackson. Where are they now type guys. Though Houston does have more potential.

Smith reminds me of Rod Smith, the wr back in the day for Denver. Steady and catches everything. Smith has HUGE productivity in college at Iowa and finds ways 2 get open. He isnt fast, but is quick, a tactician. He can fill the Ced Wilson role early. He is ready. Vash has a long way yet to go. I think Smith has been here in this system with us for 2-3 training camps/PS. He just gets better and better with his opportunities. I can see he and Dak being a nice tandem and he can start at slot.

this is a win now league. Im not a fan of developing guys for 3 years only to invest all the resources so they can be good on another team. Heck with that. I want a guy that can help us right now. Smith fits the bill. We already invested time with him for 2-3 years and he is ready. If we cut him or try to stash him, we will lose him. I guarantee ya. Number 80 can play well right now.

I really like Brandon Smith as well. I am not ready to say he's a #2 receiver but I would definitely keep him on the roster and also give him some opportunities in games.

To me, he was better than all of the other non-Lamb wide receivers I saw from the Cowboys during preseason.

Vasher was one of the repeated highlight players early in camp and then just fell off the map.
- He had a similar issue in college. Great highlight plays but overall disappointment to Tech fans. @Bobhaze

My fear is we will cut Smith and Hendershot, MALIK DAVIS and they will get poached as we attempt to get cute and stash them on the PS. All 3 are deserving of the 53. I rather cut bait with KJ and try 2 stash him on the PS. I like the Collins kid as well. I think he is WAY better than Ball and needs 2 be on the 53. He can be the swing. I would really be fine if we cut Ball altogether.

I'm a TTU alum and watched Vasher a lot. A great circus act catcher but often lost concentration. Things don't appear to have changed

A decent tackle making it to the waiver wire is virtually unheard of; and if one does we are WAY DOWN THE LIST.

That's a good comparison.

Or like a slower Laurent Robinson.

Am I misinformed, but isn’t it no longer necessary to designate a player to return?
If they go to the IR to return they must make the initial 53. If you put them on before they miss the season.

This is just nuts. I get Gallup. He will be back like week 2-3. But Washington might not see the field til November. Waste of a roster spot. This means we are cutting Brandon Smith. This would be massive ineptitude.

I figured they would make that move with Washington. It is the right thing to do.

It is.

Washington is a baller.

You'd have to be a nitwit to think Houston is better than Washington.

6-10 weeks from the day he was injured.

He could be back by game 2 or 3.
