Latest on Lions WR Roy Williams

I do trust that you have an inside view on this but that also leads me to believe that unless they franchise him he would come here anyway.
Yes, he would. Acquiring him this year and a solid draft put us over the top IMO.

He might but I don't think that is a reason to not trade for him and get his services this year.

I'd hate to end another year wishing the team had a true #2.

Thats just sentiment. Fact of the matter is your trading a first round draft pick for a single year of RW. if he is going to hit the market in a year anyway and wants to sign here then that is it one extra year for a first. that makes the deal a bad idea right off the bat.

That is even before you consider the cap, ramifications of extending him plus TO being on the team or the fact hes been constantly injured from his days in texas all the way to now. He ended the year on the IR

Personally, I'd love to see a trade for a guy like Boldin this year. Use TO-Boldin-Crayton this year while giving Hurd one more year perhaps and Stanback a chance to get some reps.

After this year, sign Roy Williams, let TO walk. Then the WR situation is ridiculously set for years.

I'm sorry but unless T.O. suddenly shows signs, this year, of vastly slowing down I'm not in favor of any move that boots him out the door at the end of this year. The guy has showed no signs of slowing down, at all, to this point and I'd much rather resign him for another 2-3 years and have another 2-3 years of T.O. and Boldin, rather than RW and Boldin, going strictly by this particular scenerio you brought up.

What if trading for Roy Williams meant winning a championship vs not winning a championship?

I think you'd be happy to make that move then. I'm not saying getting him would 'guarantee' it, but on paper the Dallas offense would be better than anyone else's, giving the Cowboys a great shot.

And the 'injury-prone' case is getting old.

The only person who thinks that is you.

His track record doesn't back up your contention.
