Ok, so I am working this morning and my daughter texts me. Laurel or Yanny? Been working 16 hour days the past few months I had no idea what she was talking about. She sent me a clip of it and I said " WTH its Yanny whats the big deal" . Of course I am not on facebook or my book or your space or whatever it is these days so I had no idea social media was having a debate about this. She told me she hears laurel and then I stop working to figure out teh hoopla. So what do you guys year?

I got no social media also so it is first time I hear about this and still got no clue.
All I can think of is Laurel as in Laurel and Hardy and Yanny as in Yanni the new age musician.

I hear Laurel but only after listening to it more than once. The very first time I listened, it sounded like Yanny.

I do not do the Facebook, Twitter, social media either. What is the big deal I wonder?

People are on crack. Laural. It doesn't even remotely sound like Yanny.

What' funny is I hear yanni, my wife hears laurel.. and I thought the exact same thing. It doesn't remotely sound like laurel.

So I saw this yesterday. It didn't sound like either, to me, yesterday. I listened to both of the above and I hear Yanny on the first Vid and both Yanny and Laurel on the second.

They went through it all yesterday. It makes sense.

For once, I have to agree with Gail. I don't know how anyone can hear "Laurel".

Where does that explain the science?
Within the first 20 seconds of the video the narrator literally says, "So, what's the science behind the madness?" The science behind why different words are being heard is explained following that sentence.
