I'd like to see how it's structured. No doubt it's a cap saving move. (I hope)

Looks like he traded potential money for guaranteed money.

It appears to be a solid move for Lawrence (and the team if he stays healthy). Given the Cowboys track record, I would t be shocked if Lawrence is injured the greater part of the next three seasons.

They be like "take a pay cut" DLAW be like "No"!

Then they be like "you want mo money" he be like "yes"!

You can't make this crap up!
No he took a paycut.

His current contract is 2 years 40 million and now it's 3 years 40 million.

He took a low-key paycut but his agent will bolster about how he now has more guaranteed money. It's still a paycut (if he was healthy and playing at an elite level then he'd be playing at 2 for 40, not 3 for 40).

Yeah, I think it will half his cap hits, but cost Jerry more out of pocket.

Yep, for practical terms it means he's not going to be cut in 2023 (no 2024) and in return he gets half his money guaranteed. A win/win/win, common sense makes a comeback ( (c)Joe Strummer).

Kudos to Tank, team captain (and I was on the Gregory side of the fence).

WTH OVER.....OMG Jerry and Stephen Jones must be senile......SO STUPID... DID I SAY SO STUPID...the dude is injury prone....

I am just lost.....my Cowboys fan hood is now in question......the FO has gone off the rails....

How is this guy injury prone? He played all 16 games 4 years in a row before breaking his foot last year.

now your statement The jones boys, particularly Stephen being a clown I 100% agree with.

The amount of hate Dlaw gets versus a player that truly fleeced the franchise in zeke is quite fascinating

If this new deal is in fact 3 years for $40 million, this looks brilliant for the team. Someone correct me if my numbers are wrong?
I'm confused as well I don't recall seeing a guy who had Lawrence's contract just up and sign a 3 year 30 million dollar deal....he had a few years left on his deal didn't he?

D-law had 2 for 40 remaining but none of it guaranteed. Cowboys told him take a paycut or we'll send you packing.

His deal is now 3 for 40 mil but as an incentive for taking the cut they upped his guaranteed from 0 to 30 mil

Ahhhh got you. Seems like both sides win if I'm understanding this correctly. Not mad at it.

Last year was the first year DLaw didn't appear in every game of a season since 2017. He's their best lineman by far.

Since 2017 Joey Bosa missed 15, Myles Garrett 15 games. It's a violent game in the trenches.
