Okay, the way I am reading this could be wrong, but this is now Lawrence's contract for the next three seasons. His $27 million cap hit for 2022 is no more; and will probably be closer to half of that. And D-Law wins since he now gets three years of guaranteed cash that wasn't there before??

Please correct me if I am wrong.

That's about right saves us about 10 or 10plus mil this year and saves us next year. His cap hit this year is about 10 I think

Not sure about that. After this and signing Schultz to a long contract, we are going to have the money to sign Gregory, Kearse, and a few others.
I actually expect Gregory and DLaw to our be our DEs for up to three more years.

I bet we extended it as a way to change the cap hit for the next couple of years. Could have restructured, but it would have made the next two years very unwieldy.

I hope so. The details and structure hasn't been posted yet. Can't wait for that. But anything reducing that 27M cap hit is a plus short term. None of it ever ends well.
