It's an absolute bargain. People can keep dumping on the Cowboys' moves so far but what they have done with Cooper, Gallup, and Lawrence was extremely shrewd and will help not only in 2022 but the long run.

I doubt many teams would be extending Lawrence at this stage of his career

The extension saves the Cowboys money. And Lawrence gets more guaranteed since Dallas could have cut him next year and owed him less. Win-win for both sides.

Love him or hate him, he's a big piece to that defense, albeit overpaid. They can pay him $20M this year, pare $7M from the cap hit and cut him next year with $10M dead cap hit.

right but this now makes RG expendable and at 10 no reason to want to cut him etc i like he was willing to compromise as its technically a pay cut but now has guaranteed final years of his career,

You are right, but 30 million over three years compared to a 27 million cap hit in 2022 alone screams bargain. The Cowboys save cash and Lawrence gains security beyond this year.
