Lawrence Taylor arrested for Rape

Bad, bad, bad. What the he** possesses a man to do something like that? I hope that it is somehow not true, not because I give a hoot about Taylor, but because of what it means happened to the girl.

He was an amazing player one of best ever in all of sports. Let's hope DWARE continues to improve and possibly match LT's greatness on the gridiron. DWARE has already surpassed him off the field as a person.

SUFFERN, N.Y. -- Pro Football Hall of Fame linebacker Lawrence Taylor was arrested early Thursday after being accused of raping a 15-year-old girl at a Montebello, N.Y., hotel, police said.

Taylor, who has a history of drug abuse and runs-in with the law, is being charged with third-degree rape, which involves having intercourse with a minor, the Journal News reported on its website. Ramapo police said Taylor has yet to be formally charged.

Police said they would hold a news conference Thursday afternoon. They did not immediately respond to questions about the circumstances of the arrest and whether Taylor, 51, had a lawyer.

Taylor was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1999 and competed in ABC's "Dancing With the Stars" last year. He had a highly publicized struggle with drug addiction and has had multiple legal issues in retirement.
 
I read through half this thread before I realized we were talking about Lawrence Taylor and not Lawrence Phillips. No idea why. But, yikes, this is a big story.
 
sigh.... hopefully he gets a lot more action in the joint.

i really looked up to this guy at one point but this is the absolute worst.

hopefully he did not infect that child with anything. his drugged out sexual exploits are widely known and were allowed by hard-nosed, all discipline bill parcells.

wonder if theisman visits him in jail and takes him a pillow to sit on.

Not surprised at all. LT has always been a ***. Great player when coked out of his mind but his moral compass is out of wack. Bill Parcells looked the other way when it was well known what LT was up too. It appears he has not learned from his past mistakes. It is not the first time this sort of allegation has been made against him.

Former New York Giants linebacker Lawrence Taylor stands accused of raping a 15-year-old girl who is described as "a runaway from New York City controlled by a pimp," the Journal News paper in Lower Hudson Valley is reporting.

According to the report, Taylor was arrested in a hotel and is being held in the Rampopo town police lockup pending arraignment on a charge of third-degree rape, which involves having intercourse with a minor.

Police say the girl was brought to the hotel by a pimp and that she was punched in the face and needed treatment at a hospital, although they have not said it was Taylor who punched her. Police are expected to give more details on Thursday afternoon.

The girl reportedly texted her uncle, who called the police.

I wonder if LT specifically asked for a younger girl? I'm assuming he knew the pimp.

At any rate, this is going to be an ugly story.
 
Damn, and I liked LT. Seemed like a good dude who had his problems and moved on. Not no more though.
