The coaches agreed on Bledsoe last year too- and he sucked

wasnt there reports of several coaches pushing Parcells to start Romo from week one? I'm sure I remember hearing that...

I know there were a few fans pissed that Romo didn't start week one. We were far outnumbered on here. Thank god someone on the coaching staff saw the light.

Exactly. Barber will get his time. It's coming. It's so blatantly obvious.

oh definitely...because after racking up 45 pts and almost 500 yds, the coaches will be kicking themselves over everything thats wrong with the offense

David. I'm just as happy as you are with 45 points. Now that we're over that let's really look at it.

If we had notched 45 points against the Ravens defense then I might see more room for eternal optimism. It was the freaking Giants D for goodness sake. It's totally obvious to me that our offense is better with Barber on the field. It's a marathon not a track meet and I want to look up 15 more miles or so down the road and see a team headed for the Super Bowl. Ask yourself this... How confident would you be in the 45 point spot going forward if MB3 were not on this team? I'm not into beating JJ into the ground. The guy is a good RB. However, the bottom line is we're a better, more dangerous offense, with MB3 getting the bulk of the carries.

Was I the only one that noticed JJ was tiptoeing through the tulips up until MB3 busted that nasty run to the right for the score on 4th and 1. Then out of nowhere on the very next series JJ was running with more authority... We should be thankful, at the very least, that MB3 is here to push JJ. I am of the opinion that MB3 needs no motivation to do what he does. JMO

When all else fails, just say "Well the coaches agree with me" as if the coaches are never wrong.

The reason MB3 isn't starting is cuz the rotation works just fine, and if MB3 were to start, he'd be getting the bulk of the carries, PLUS the goalline carries, PLUS the 3rd down back snaps. He wouldn't last the season. JuJo does enough to where we don't HAVE to start MB3.

For now.

That's pretty much it... I'm not for resting my laurels on a win against the Giants defense. ho hum... We'll see what happens as the season rolls along. We might be starting JJ but MB needs to be getting:

JJ can get everything else in between.

If MB3 would have been drafted the year before Julius and not vice versa Julius would have a hard time seeing the field.

The only thing I like about Julius starting is it kind of reminds me of the old wrestling tag team matches I watched as a kid. The first guy in the ring for the good guys would start getting beat up and he would be looking to tag out but his opponent would keep him from making the tag. Eventually the crowd would be worked up into a frenzy cheering and hoping for the good guy to tag out so the fresh tag team partner could get in the ring. It never failed, the good guy, (who was getting his butt kicked), would eventually make the tag out to his partner and the fresh guy would come in and start cleaning house with the bad guys. That's sort of what I'm reminded of when MB3 finally gets in the game and the energy level of the offense explodes through the roof!! :D

Isn't MBIII also a FA after this season? If that's the case, it means we could lose both of them and I really want to keep MBIII. BTW: It entirely possible McFadden could be the first player selected and the team picking first might not be willing to trade the pick so we can draft him. We gotta have a major backup plan to go forth with if we still need a RB or add a RB in FA and use our 2 first rounders to address the CB & a WR/DE/DT position.

Put me on record now as saying McFadden can rush for 3000 yards, but I DO NOT WANT TO TRADE UP FOR HIM. There are other good RBs in this draft, and while he's imo the best, we'd be better off keeping as many picks as possible (atleast high ones). If anything I'd risk trading down aslong as I thought there was a good chance we'd get him anyway.

Thanks. That analogy just hit me today as I was thinking about our "tag team" RB situation. It brought a smile to my face thinking about those old wrestling matches I used to love watching as a kid.

Julius Jones won't be back in Dallas next year.... McFadden will be the man in Dallas nex year :wink2:

Gosh, we have a pretty decent rb combination. Why don't we resign JJ and MBIII and use our draft picks on some real needs. Oh I don't know, WR or DB maybe even a safety, how about NT. RB is not a need.

Greetings Gentlemen ...

I usually just read the threads here on the site not wishing to get into some of the heated disagreements that arise..

So i offer this tibit heard on WFAN between 5:30 to 5:45 est. as a neutral .

Gaints LB A. Pierce in a spot on the WFAN stated(this is as close i can recall). They may have given Julius Jones the spot but its Marion Barber that we were concerned about..

If you had been able to hear the whole statement on the subject it leaves no doubt on who he believes is the best RB on the Dallas squad..

Sledge

i heard the whole thing wfan is a good station for sports

And now TWO coaching staffs have picked JJ over MBIII. Why does everyone ignore that fact?
well, it was game 1, so i dont know if i'd say the coaches think jones is better than barber, just that he is accustomed to being the starter so lets continue and see what he can do, but i beleive it will be a different story very soon.

But the coaches have had all of TC and preseason to evaluate as well.

Yeah I heard that segment too... dont remember it word for word....

This is can add....

Pierce went on to say that Barber was a force and made things happen(paraphrasing)
Also... you could hear concern in his voice when talking about Barber with the ball in his hands

He was actually praising his heart, desire and toughness... his nose and determination to get the yards and into the endzone

You NEVER pass on a talent like McFadden! but that doesnt matter right now...

my problem with Jones is that his strength is supposed to be speed but yesterday Barber looked like the faster guy with how he was getting past defenders! also that Jones couldnt make someone miss to save his life while Barber makes about 3 people miss just about every play. Barber just clearly deserves to be the starter and get 20-25 carries a game!
