Given that he signed for 5-years $50M with $20M guaranteed last year with the Rams and will be 33 years old this June, what kind of contract would secure his services seeing as how this will probably be the last deal he signs (unless a 1-year deal is done) given his age.

If not a 1-year deal, and coming off a highly productive season, Wagner is probably looking at a deal in the range of a 3-year $30M fully guaranteed deal if Dallas truly wants him to sign. The AAV is on par with what he signed last season and the guaranteed money exceeds his Rams deal and is such that currently places him just outside the Top 10 highest paid LB's and allows Dallas some front-page news which Jerry loves.

(The money to pay Wagner would come from Zeke either being released as a post-June 1st player or his current deal being dramatically lowered from his current $16M cap hit to more like $5M.....so Jerry gets to keep Zeke in Dallas which satisfies both their egos while Zeke looks the star for cutting his deal to bring in an All-Pro player for the defense......something Dak should seriously consider doing to show it's about winning).
It was effectively a 1-year, 10M deal.

Only 10M guaranteed at signing.

The 20M number includes money that becomes guaranteed if he was on the roster in March of 2023.

He wants to play for a winning team. Rams aren’t going anywhere at the moment. Before people complain about Dallas, they won 12 games two years ago and won 12 games and a playoff game last season.

I don’t see him going to the east coast or a cold weathered team. He could end up back in Seattle or a team like San Francisco or Las Vegas. I still believe he stays out west and remains close to his family.

If Dallas signs him, the defense instantly goes from really really good to an elite bunch.

Don't say that!! All the players we have it should be elite, and it's not just a bunch of names

Should be a top priority

Yes, would be a good addition. I don't buy he was an all pro last year but a huge upgrade for sure.
He only got a 5 million dollar signing bonus but 10 million guarantee at signing, which was 2022 salary and the 2023 roster bonus.
He actually only got 6.5 million.
The Rams cut him before March 19 when the 23 salary (7.5) + 3.5 roster bonus would kick in.

Man.. this just shows even guaranteed at signing really means nothing or even total guarantees. It's really just signing bonus that is guaranteed.
Of course if your stud QB has roster bonus on a yearly basis we know that Chiefs are not cutting Mahomes on a year per year basis, but its a tough business.

He literally was an all pro last year and the highest rated LB in football.

But sure.
Still stud status at soon to be 33 yrs old.
The projection as far as retaining that status at that age and how the TERM projects was my primary point.
Not the highest ratest LB in the game.

Stephen can’t be happy that Wagner is back on the market.

Now has to listen to the same criticism as when they passed last time yet again.

Not bad. Anything that disguises what Parsons is doing and doesnt have him lining up at edge rusher 90 percent of the time I am game for. Guys like Micah need to be moved around. Blitzed of course but not banging heads with LTs all game. Wagner Parsons LVE is a nice LB trio, and dont forget that Damone Clark will have a full offseason. He will also be a player. So you can theoretically. Not pay LVE. Bring in Wagner and have Parsons, Wagner, Clark. Williams and Tank from the edges.

That sounds like a formidable front 7 to me.
Not that Dallas will, simply because they do not value the DT position in terms of a big man-run stuffer, but doing the above and adding a monster in the middle would truly bring this defense to the next level.

Possible late 1st round Michigan DT Mazi Smith 6' 3" 326 pounds quality run defender with some pass rush ability
Possible 2nd round prospect Baylor DT Siaki Ika 6' 3" 350 pounds pure mountain of a man run defender with minimal pass rush ability
Possible 2nd to 3rd round prospect Florida DT Gervon Dexter 6' 6" 308 pounds beast of a run defender with improving pass rush ability
Possible 5th to 6th round prospect Coastal Carolina DT Jerrod Clark 6' 4" 343 pounds a brawler that is tough to move off the line
Possible 6th round prospect Western Kentucky DT Brodric Martin 6' 5" 337 pounds another big-bodied wall on the d-line
Possible 6th to 7th round prospect DT Keondre Coburn 6' 2" 346 pounds damn near immovable object at the nose position

Would love to have Bobby Wagner or Rashaan Evans in our linebacker group this upcoming season to help strengthen the front 7. Dallas definitely needs to be aggressive this offseason.

Very surprising. He was very good last year, and its not like he is ancient
cut 2 straight years,..Rams sure paid a lot for player on a team that won how many games? he and von were way overpriced and neaother helped theoir teams in the end. so BW wants to come here and take less, lets do it.. he wants top money..,nope

option A cut LVE and get BW for around the same money draft an off ball downhill LB that good in the run game around round 3...

just sign LVE draft an off ball downhill LB that good in the run game around round 3...

cant do both

Not sure how realistic it is to actually run a true 4-3 in todays game, but I like the idea, and with a dual threat like Parsons there may be a way to pull it off.....might even be more of a 3-3-5 on certain downs?

I think LVE could take on any backer spot, his best asset at this point in his career probably is his coverage ability so I don't really see the downside. Bigger issue is probably just how realistic it is to fit both LVE and Wagner into the cap.
Wagner make a 3-year $30M fully guaranteed deal (exceeds his 2022 guaranteed money and equals his AAV from 2022)
LVE make a 3-year $15M fully guaranteed deal (exceeds his 2022 salary of $2M and places him where he should be at for LB's)

That comes to $15M dedicated to 2 linebackers for each of the next 3 years (1 All-Pro and 1 quality starter), a figure easily affordable when the bulk of that figure can come from reducing Zeke's deal from his current $16.72M 2023 cap hit to more like $5M....and if he refuses that number than you make him a post-June 1st cap casualty wherein Dallas saves $10.79M against the 2023 salary cap...so, either way, Dallas saves 2/3rds of against what it may cost to have BOTH Wagner and LVE at the LB spots to form a Parsons-Wagner-LVE top-rated LB corps for Dallas......add a behemoth at DT via the draft and a decent CB to partner with Diggs and Dallas is looking at a defense that could carry this team in 2023.

Now he's gone from just a name at this point in his career to he's sure to decline soon.

Tell me again how I must not have been paying attention to him last year.

Evans is not good though. Wagner is who we need to be going after
