Pretty much sums up all free agents.

Dallas shows interest. Player shows interest. We go cheap and they sign elsewhere
Wash rinse and repeat. Don't get excited for free agency next month just hope they keep hitting in the draft.

Top 15 LB in the league, not bad for 32 year old.
Why do you assume I said Wagner was washed, I said his best years are behind him, never said he was worthless, he would be an upgrade on this team for the right price.
LOL. He was an All Pro. That isn't a fan vote. He had as many TFL this year than the two years prior combined. He had a career high in sacks, more than the last two years combined.

There isn't an ounce of truth to what you're saying. He was one of the best defensive players in the league.

Just a weird and ignorant take.

Hey he's older. He must be declining. I'm going to pretend I watched him and run with it.

Oh, and BTW, don't backtrack. You said he was only a name at this point.

I didn't assume you said he was washed. You stated his best years were behind him and I replied he played pretty darn well last year. And, I never implied you said he was worthless, not sure where that came from. I like this player and will love the Cowboys to give him a contract

I cannot see how his price will be any cheaper than one year ago
The fact the Rams are releasing him after only a year is one way. Also, teams were exactly beating down his door last season. There was some talk of Broncos ( more Russell recruiting ) and Ravens ( more of a social media thing coz he never talked with them ) having interest but the truth is only 2 teams made offers ( Rams and Cowboys ).

No doubt that Bobby Wagner is a top LB -- too bad if he'll want to be paid like one. Our FO may have a problem with that. H-m-m.

Stephen likes our guys. Don't you all know by now? (Even though I want him, especially since now he won't even cost a comp picks)

Wait.... I thought everyone wanted Comp picks.

Are we back to ditching Comp picks in favor of old free agents on their last leg?

Or my favorite...are we still doing the ole We Want Comp picks AND To Sign A Bunch Of Free Agents fantasy?

Cut players don't count against comp picks

Can someone send Mr. Cap Boy Jones somewhere outside the facility. So we can sign LVE and Wagner or just get Wagner. Would be an upgrade right there alone.

He was signed to a 5-year/$50M deal with $20M guaranteed from the Rams and in his first year with them he had the following numbers:

140 tackles 6 sacks 2 INT's 10 TFL's 10 Pressures

So with those numbers, why are the Rams releasing him and taking a $7.5M dead money cap hit ($5M cap savings)? Early talk is the Rams need cap space and Wagner wants to play for a team that has a Super Bowl chance.

While Dallas could possibly fit that description, there are already reports saying Cincy and Titans are interested and Dallas' worst nightmare: the Eagles may be interested.

If Jerry is serious about winning a Super Bowl he finds a way to sign Wagner as the pairing of Parsons and Wagner would elevate this defense to one scary defense.

That said, keep in mind the Rams played a 3-4 defense with Wagner as the RILB whereas Dallas runs more of a 4-2-5 big nickel defense so would Wagner actually flourish in that style of defense?

He wants to play for a winning team. Rams aren’t going anywhere at the moment. Before people complain about Dallas, they won 12 games two years ago and won 12 games and a playoff game last season.

I don’t see him going to the east coast or a cold weathered team. He could end up back in Seattle or a team like San Francisco or Las Vegas. I still believe he stays out west and remains close to his family.

If Dallas signs him, the defense instantly goes from really really good to an elite bunch.
