I'm waiting for just 1 of these hyped linebackers to do something. Cox, Clark now him. Prove it somebody
It’s clear they don’t really like Jabril Cox.

Clark is a completely different story. The fact he saw the field so quickly last year says a ton.

He basically leap frogged everyone on the roster the moment he was healthy.

I don’t see Overshown being in competition for a “linebacker”spot.

I think he’s going to be used like a chess piece and he’ll never have a true position.

Quinn runs a hybrid defense that basically just matches up with whatever the offense is doing.

I like this kid as well. He has a knack for the blitz and he plays with a reckless violence to his game— as all great LBs do.

Wonder if his addition to the LB corps is why they are comfortable with Parsons going full time DE?

Overshown, Cox, LVE, and Clarke at LB— with Kearse and Dono also playing a hybrid S/LB role.

What I like is he can be standing still and his first step looks like he was shot out of a cannon.

You nailed it, @Hawkeye19 !

I don't think it's a coincidence Micah is suddenly being made to gain weight and muscle in order to become a full-time Edge DE. Pretty sure Overshown being drafted has a lot to do with it.

The speed of the NFL isn’t going to be a problem for him.

Can’t wait to see the nickel packages Quinn comes up with for the generally unexpected additions to the defense. Don’t forget that we are no longer pissing into the wind at CB2 so maybe we can be all the more aggressive with blitzes.

I realize everyone look great on YouTube, but one can’t not get all pumped for September when looking at Overshown.

I hate to break it to yall. Overshown is a special teams guy right now. He probably wont see many snaps on defense unless injuries come into play.

It may have been the opposite. The Cowboys knew going into the draft the Parsons was moving to DE so it made LB a bigger priority. That would explain in part why they took a LB in the 3rd round over other areas like RB or OL.

He's not really going to see the field this year unless there are injuries. Overshown is basically a Kearse replacement, I doubt they see him as a 3-down Mike/Will in nickel sets.

I disagree..

He matches up with too many things a offense can do.

When teams have mobile QBs and TEs and RBs who run like WRs doing crossing routes then a guy like Overshown has to be on the field.

He’ll play and play a lot I would imagine.

To me he can actually do some of the things at linebacker that people think Parsons can do but actually can’t.

I'm waiting for us to have true off the ball LBs.
Especially when you invest a early round draft pick in one.

Not just thin-down safeties/hybrid types that have to rely on running around blockers to make the play.

I thought i heard from an interview with McClay, made mention of Overshown as off the ball coverage LB.
Dunno if that will be right away or eventually.

I still own stock in Jabril Cox’s upside. I think with the injury now a year behind him this is going to be his audition; make it or break it.
What good is a year away, if he hasn't been on the playing field to work out the ACL kinks ?
He was virtually on the game day active list a good number of the season.
