LB Is A Problem

LB is a huge issue and easily the weakest position group on the team.

It turns out that shopping for LBs in K-Mart's blue light special bin hasn't paid off. Maybe they should have spent some of that $40 million in CAP space on a quality starter instead of hoping first round busts would pan out on a new team.

It is really disappointing to see Marist Liufau only get 6 snaps and can't beat out Clark or Murray.

Shemar James needs to develop in a hurry because these guys aren't going to cut it.

Clark has proven his entire time here that he has no instincts. Yeah, he had a good training camp but it doesn't translate to live games.

As a rule...if you are not a 3-4 defense that is designed to stop the run, you need your DT and LBers playing at a high level. Guess the last time we were top against the run......LVE rookie season.

Here is my thing.

Our defense did everything well except stop Hurts from running.

Hurts running was what beat us.

Some of it was just pure stupidity by the defensive coordinator.

They are a weak bunch, and slow. Other than Overshown, no big time playmakers. O could have run down Hurts in those back breaking plays.

Eberflus didn't come with a good gameplan or have his guys prepared. The emergence of Liufau and drafting Shemar should have spelled the end of seeing Damone Clark's finesse arse running around on my screen but here we are. Stop playing favorites, bench Clark and Sanborn.

Easily the weakest group on the defense. I would give them a pass if they were rookies but these guys are vets. Damon Clark is still trash, Murray missing gaps and Sanborn cannot move his hips and is going to struggle against athletic QB's.

Some of it what scheme for sure. Even on that last 3rd down play you have to question what they were thinking. It was obvious from watching past Eagles game that it was going to be a QB draw and Dallas has 2 safeties deep and is spread out across the field. Have to be more prepared than that.

They held one of the best RB's we've seen to 60 yds and 1 yd in his last 7 rushes... not too shabby for a new unit.

Plus Overshown is on his way back.

There was a lot more pass rush actually. Problem is we couldn’t get him down.

The lack of speed was concerning. If you are going to be slow, you better make up for it with good instincts, etc.

Overshown might be the key to this defense. I think he is the missing piece. I hate to put that type of pressure on this kid.
