If you like rice:rolleyes: I'll stick with GM and Dodge, my lowly Viper, Z06 and my Envoy!

Yeah, I love rice- I love the fact I'll still be driving my rice burners when all the garbage from Europe and America has rotted into the ground. American cars are fun to drive though, especially for the shake, rattle, and roll factor.

WAR Japan. :D

Big fan of the Nissan, myself, although I haven't had any problems with my ford pickup. 120,000 miles and A-OK, and I neglect that thing like the piece of crap it is. Every once in a while I throw it a bone and change it's oil.

If it's lucky.

I've had two civics that I treat like total garbage- change the oil every 7,500 or whenever I feel like it maybe had them tuned up two or three times each. One had 215K on it when I gave it to my in-laws- still runs like brand new- solid as a rock- no rattles, no problems whatsoever. The other has 172,000 on it- same thing. I can't tell one bit of difference in it than when it was brand new. I have a new Accord that I expect will still be running mid-century for the lucky person that has it at that point.

and my 01 dodge 4x4 quad-cab has 105k miles on it and starts up fine, no smoke, no rattles.

stereotypes get on my nerves.

as for the stereo in that truck - 500w max is "bad"?????? good god, i know some dual 15" PA speakers that handle not much more! also look at the overall "Room" in the truck of air that even "can" be pushed around. i don't know about you but those amps seemed pretty solid to me and in it all we've not even seen the main deck.

i'd have to think "crappy stereo system" wouldn't apply here.

I think I would tend to agree with that statement. I wouldn't feel too confident trying to tow anything with a Ridgeline- the new Tundra however would probably yank the earth of its axis.

If he's coming to San Antonio, he better be driving a Toyota Texas Tundra............built right here in the summer home of the Dallas Cowboys.

yeah, and all the profits go back to Japan where they re-invest in their country.

Just speaking from experience with the GM cars I've owned (88 Cutlass, 90 Bonneville, 94 Cutlass-notice I was replacing them pretty frequently).

That stereo in that truck looked pretty nice to me. I could care less, as long as it has sound coming out of the speakers so I can listen to sports talk I'm OK.

around 94 was when things were getting turned around. in 88, your cutlass looked like every other GM car out there, but with new taillights and maybe an extra lighter to make it "upscape". i'd argue the point with you but yea, you picked a bad run of "american" cars and your opinions will be founded in fact on those. : )

i think "today" american cars are much improved over what you saw in 90. i would think the 94 cutlass would have been the best of the bunch but it's still at the tailend of the cookie cutter cars from what i recall.

point to you on this one. : )

Yeah, looked pretty solid to me........then again, Im no expert in the area but if I had to guess......a dude with enough money to attach a bad *** grill and flat panel TV to the back end of his truck probably has enough money to put some sound it in.

Heres what his other system looks like......in the "BIGG"mobile

well, my own stereo in my truck ran some $$$, but nothing like what davis spent. "Crappy stereo system" just sounds like bitter whining to me and maybe some jealousy.

mine is a jvc deck that has a 3.5" screen where i can watch dvd's on it. dual amps (1 kenwood for the (2) 10" subs and 1 alpine for the rest) with JL audio subs and stillwater designs everywhere else. it'll crank and annoy people on cell phones next to me so it makes me happy. does someone have a better system out there?

i'm sure they do, but i'm still happy w/my own.

At least they are built in the USA. Where do you suppose Chevy's, Dodges and Ford's are, made?

Here's a clue.....................it's south of the border.

north of the border also, don't leave out canada.

however, this is implying there are no car plants in the US for US auto makers. that's just silly.

i'll have to look for the name but if i remember right they handle really crappy, like 200 rms/ 500 max

The amp on the right is a Crossfire VR1000D

Tested output of 1332 watts RMS x 1 @ 1ohm @ 14.4volts.

I'm not sure what kind of subs those are but he's putting upwards of 450 watts RMS to each one of his subs (assuming he's using only the 1 VR1000D to power 3 subs and has them wired for a 1 ohm load on the amp).

you know....this means war right?:mad::mad::mad:

:D as long as we agree American is the way to go, this war can be set aside

Sadly, Toyota makes the most "American" of all the trucks. The so-called American truck makers get many parts from overseas.

The Toyota Tundra is the only pickup truck in America that is 100% American made in Indiana....sad, but that's what I read a few years ago.

That 94 Cutlass was a good car, for the most part. It had the twin dual cam V6 and I put 125k on it- it was ready for the graveyard when I got rid of it though. That and it had an ultra cheap interior with bad fit and finish. The worst part of the interior was all this molded plastic with what appeared to be stitching on it- I always that that was rediculous. Overall, though, I really liked that car. I went to Honda because of the resale values.
