Lesser known movies / TV shows that you love(d)

"Hard Rain", and "Used cars"....Both great Movies

As for TV......"The Forgotten"

Oh and "Hell on wheels"

TV shows - Dual Survival - Best Survival show out there. Although one of the members was just fired for lying about his credentials.

Movies - Green Street Hooligans - if you like fighting and sports(it's soccer) you'll love this movie. It's about a gang that goes around fighting for their hometown soccer time. Apparently, that's how it is over in England.

I liked a show called The Event. It only lasted one season and then gone but I liked it.

I liked the Night Stalker. Both the original and the remake were pretty short lived.

I liked Alcatraz. I think that could have gone in a lot of interesting directions. I think it's gone now.

There was a show called Campus Ladies that came out on Oxygen of all places. It was funny but nobody ever watched it so.........

There was a show called Dead Like Me that I loved but it was gone in two seasons.

Rubicon was a show about an intelligence firm who analyzed intelligence for ABC agencies. It was quality television IMO but I guess nobody watched it. That show is better then 95% of the TV out there right now IMO.

I liked BSG but there was a show called Caprica that I thought was pretty good. I started to really like it but it too was cancelled.

Also, I liked a show called the deep end. It was only on for about 6 episodes but I like Addy Fisher so maybe that's why I liked it.
I loved "the event" and "alcatraz". It is getting harder to try to get into new shows these days because networks are quick to pull the plug.

I even liked "terra nova", you can never have enough dinosaur shows IMO. The list goes on with other shows like "Prime suspect", "chase", "the river", "unforgettable", etc.

Thks will have to see if I can find them on torrent .....

I think you can find them on hulu or YouTube.

Another film (English) that some might like is dog house. Comedy with guys that wind up in a town full of woman that are kind of zombies.

Saw it. As Zombie Comedies go, I liked it... the humor was pretty good.

You should check out this little gem from the same guys that made Shaun of the Dead. Instantly Top 10 for me.

Independence Day grossed $817 million. Fargo grossed $60 million.

I'd say Fargo wasn't that popular with the public.

austin powers grossed 53 but that doesn't mean that everybody didn't see it and liked it, it just means people waited for the vhs

Off the top of my head, I really liked the American TV remake of Touching Evil. Jeffrey Donovan was the star, and this was several years before he became well known on Burn Notice.

Anyway, the series only ran one season which sucked because it had great characters and great stories.

Never heard of it. How'd that happen? Loved Shaun of the Dead so I'll check it out. Thanks, Rynie. :D

My favorite zombie movie is "Night of the Comet', it is from 1984 but a good one, especially back then.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0087799/
Seems like I saw it way back when, but can't remember it. I'll watch it for the first or second time, to make sure it's in my memory banks from here on out. ;)

Rented a bunch of gory horror movies including "Army of Darkness". Thought it would be scary, but it turned out to be hilarious with these awesome cheesy special effects and lines e.g. "Gimme some sugar, baby..." "Pandorum" was pretty scary and gross. Two thumbs up.

You know that real evil exists in the world when a network (NBC) waits until the cliffhanger is shown (a whole planet transported near Earth's orbit!) and pulls the plug. :)

Why must you remind me :(

They really need to give shows like this a proper finale.

I think they should do a Godfather spoof. I wonder if you could put some zombie mobsters in there.

Great unknown Riddely Scott Movie The Duellist 1977.The Big name actor most you would know is Harvey Keitel the other main character is played by Keith Carradine.

The Long Riders 1980 covers the Younger Gang
Any ways great flix covering the Gang. A really cool part of the movie relates to how the Younger Gang was a group of Brothers (3 Sets) Younger's, James's and Miller's. All the actors that played the Gang where brothers in real life.

Jim Younger=Keith Carradine
Bob Younger=Robert Carradine
Cole Younger=David Carradine

Frank James=Stacey Keech
Jesse James=James Keech

Ed Miller= Dennis Quaid
Clell Miller=Randy Quaid

It's ok but it is best if you put Shaun of the dead out of your head or you will be very disappointed. I liked Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, Paul and even Doghouse over Attack the block.

If you like foreign films in the british style some of the following might be up your alley...

In Bruges

Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels

Formula 51 (although Samuel Jackson and Meatloaf are in it, it is mostly a british cast and a great movie with action and comedy)

28 days and 28 weeks later

The Bank Job

Speaking of British...Here are some TV shows I like(d) on BBC

Loved the series the Inbetweeners...just a raunchy yet hilarious teenager comedy. They put out a movie but I have not seen it.

Dr Who (yes I am a Dr Who geek)

Torchwood

Being Human although it has pretty much jumped the shark and the american version is better now.

The Fades

Graham Norton Show

Survivors - used to be a good show on there but got cancelled after a season or two.

Speaking of BBC american...what the heck is going on with that channel...lately it has turned in to Top Gear 24/7.

Yeah. Fargo grossed 60 mil...that is nothing to sneeze at. Even moreso, everyone that watches movies on the planet had at least heard of it. I mean it wan't an obscure Oscar movie that only grossed 5 mil or so.
Having said that, it's no big deal if someone wants to mention it. I was just giving a fellow CBZer some ribbing.....and Fargo really was a good movie.
