If you liked Pan's Labyrinth you might like another film (subtitles) he did called...The Devil's Backbone.

Not quite as good as pan but not too bad.
I'll have to check it out, BP. Don't recall having seen it.

Basically a ghost story in an orphanage of sorts. Again not as good as Pan but I liked it.

Widely considered to be a great movie, but because of it's age may not be very well known...

Seven Samurai (1954)

from Wikipedia:
Seven Samurai[1] (七人の侍 Shichinin no Samurai?) is a 1954 Japanese adventure drama film co-written, edited, and directed by Akira Kurosawa. The film takes place in 1587 during the Warring States Period of Japan. It follows the story of a village of farmers that hire seven masterless samurai (ronin) to combat bandits who will return after the harvest to steal their crops.
Seven Samurai is described as one of the greatest and most influential films ever made,[2] and is one of a select few Japanese films to become widely known in the West for an extended period of time. It is the subject of both popular and critical acclaim; it was voted onto Sight & Sound's list of the ten greatest films of all time in 1982, and to the directors' top ten films in the 1992 and 2002 polls.[3]

Toshiro Mifune

Loved him as Lord Toranaga in shogun. Loved him in Seven Samurai.

A lot of the shows and movies I can think of have already been mentioned. Here is one movie I liked but is virtually unknown.

You liked it? I saw it in the theaters and walked out half way through.

It was the basis for "The Magnificent Seven", a classic in its' own right.

I've watched a few episodes, mainly because I have a crush on Mary-Louise Parker.

I've watched a few episodes only, mainly because I've always had a crush on Mary-Louise Parker.

Suicide Kings is kind of an underrated, unknown movie with Christopher Walken and Dennis Leary.

If you want older, cheesier movies, I'd recommend "Big Trouble in Little China" (good) and Maximum Overdrive (so bad it is good)

Freaks and Geeks - short lived TV show from 1999. They show it sometimes on IFC. It had Seth Rogan, Jason Segal, and James Franco before they blew up.

Love Big Trouble in Little China great action comedy also kinds of has subtle pokes at those type of action movies including itself.

Maximum Overdrive was based off a Stephen King short story or some such thing. It was :ralph:

QUICK CHANGE - Bill Murray. great movie

TRUE ROMANCE- all star cast

SOUTHERN COMFORT- I like it a little better than Deliverance

CADILAC MAN - Robin Williams and Tom Robbins. very funny movie and I know I mispelled the title

I loved both these movies Also in the same time period as Maximum Overdrive. TREMORS a great movie with Kevin Bacon who I think is a very underrated actor

I love Seven Samurai. I have it on disc and rewatch it on occasion. Mifune is a wonderful actor and the director is first class. His director Akira Kurosawa used him a lot and said he could communicate what he wanted from him purely thru facial expression and body language.

There are some short-lived series out of the UK that I've enjoyed...

"UFO"
"Mulberry"
"Open All Hours"

Even though it ran for several seasons and was hilarious, I'm surprised "Corner Gas" (produced in Canada) isn't more well known.

Some little known movies that I've enjoyed...

"Killdozer"
"Snowbeast" (1977 version)
"Death Weekend"
"Between The Lines"
