Dak will always be that type of quarterback that sits between elite and average. Nothing more nothing less. Has he improved? Yes but his scouting report is still dead on in most categories that matter most.

Hes surrounded by one of the most dominant OL in football, a top featured back, and a couple good recievers. But yet the league, fans, analysts peg him as someone who sits in the 7-12 range for the most part.

He had an outstanding rookie year no doubt. Teams got tape of him and adjusted accordingly. They mock him weekly to beat them by stacking the box to take Zeke out of the game.

Why the hell doesnt he lose his legs more. Did he forget he can run with the ball....

We need to franchise him and bring in competition along with coaching. Hopefully they can utilize his strengths unlike garret and co

He’s a tough guy, a good leader, he works really hard, says all the right things, and I actually think he makes a lot of good reads. But you can’t teach accuracy at this level. I know what the stats say. But let’s be honest what does the eyeball test show you? When Gallup is running WIDE Open on a crossing route and the ball is 2-3 years behind a WR running in stride! This is been a consistent thing all season long. He has so many attributes you want in a QB but accuracy is not one of them. And we have to be honest about it. For the Dak fans , best case scenario is we get a new staff in that moves to more of a west coast type offense that focuses on just getting the ball out of the QB’s hands quickly. Then Dak can turn into a really good Bus driver. If that fails with the new staff we’ll, you only invested a 4th rounder in the guy and it would be time to move on.
Dak cant run a west coast offense because he isnt a timing guy. He wants to sit back for 6 sec in a clean pocket and throw behind and over guys that are wide open. I've seen enough of Dak to know he really struggles against better defenses. That's not gonna get you far in the playoffs.

Well hes gonna be on this team for a long time. What are you going to do every yr?
If the team doesn’t succeed we are going to call out and criticize symptoms that prevented us from reaching our goals much like we have for 6 decades. Just because Dak is our guy doesn’t exempt him from criticism.

One of the biggest positives with Dak has been his winning percentage which after this season has been deflated.

There’s many areas on this team to critique. I certainly saw many plays left on the field Sunday which prevented us from a greater opportunity to win including poor throws and dropped passes.

Unfortunately a team’s success is often correlated with a QB’s performance and much of the positive vibe from Dak was the winning culture . But if this is the culture then I’m not sure if we are in any better place than we were in the last QB’s era?

On these next gen stats it says Dak leads the NFL in catchable passes. Skip shuts shannon up every time with this stat.

If you want to argue with me and tell me in 2017 2018 Dak was the reason ill agree. Not this yr. These WRs and TEs have been the problem.
Dak has gotten these WRs hurt throwing the ball to a wide open player and he has to vertical leap 3 feet and reach behind as the defender catches up and takes his legs out so he lands on his head. I guarantee Amari wants to get the heck outta Dallas.

His shoulder is not right. It's obvious on his throws.

he needs more practice reps.

kitna made a lot of progress with Dak.

he needs another offseason of coaching.

the problem is, we are half way through daks best years.

he probably has 3-5 more top seasons left.

It's obvious Dak got an injection in his throwing shoulder and hadn't practiced all week. He didn't practice post needle to see how it would effect his throws / touch.

I'm not putting everything on the last game.

Some folks are talking like we're 12 and 3 and going to the playoffs. We're 7 and 8 for goodness sakes. I've never seen so many meaningless stats used to prop Dak up like "best tight window QB" or he throws the most "catchable passes" which was mentioned in this thread. Can anyone honestly look at Dak and claim with a straight face that he throws the most catchable passes?

Dak is the QB version of Jason Garrett in that we're using the same excuses we did for the Red Dolt: he needs time, he has to learn, let's give him another year (as if 4 isn't enough to make an accurate assessment), it's the D's fault, it's the WR's fault, it's the OL's fault, it's everyone else's fault but the most important player on the field. Just like it was everyone else's fault except the HC. We wasted 10 years with Garrett and we're going down the same path, with the same excuses, with Dak.

I don’t care about the stats either.. Dak is good at a lot of things but his accuracy is average at best. He doesn’t have very good touch he kind of straight lines those deep passes, doesn’t put enough touch on them so the wr can make adjustments.

He needs to do a lot better at hitting receivers in stride and definitely needs to get better at pre-snap reads/audibles!

Exactly , what does the eyeball test show you? When healthy how many times have we seen WR’s open in stride and Dak is constantly throwing behind the open WR? It’s countless. You cannot pay a QB elite money for that type of accuracy.

The question is how bad would we be without Dak? Could we sign Mariota, Red rifle or Bridgewater and be much worse. That 35 +price tag scares me to death. Put the money for him and Cooper in defense and special teams. We would be a better team. Draft a quarterback in the first round.

Kitna made progress with Dak. It was obvious the beginning of the season. But for some reason, he has regressed.

At times he can zip the ball right on target then the next throw is far off target.

Franchise him, see what the new staff can do. One year from now we will know if it's time to go in search of a new QB.

4 years in the same system should tell you enough. 4 years of missing the easiest of throws.

Dak is going to need to lower his asking demands, for $35 mill a season I expect you to be pretty dam accurate, that is Aaron Rogers, Drew Brees, Russel Wilson money. Those guys can thread a needle and literally stick the ball in their WR's face mask 30 yards down the field.

Dak cant do that..………..He is not on the same level as Aaron Rogers, Drew Brees, Russel Wilson, ect…...he needs to be paid accordingly.

He should be paid similar to Kurt Cousins, in the $28 mill a season range. Dak and Kurt can both put up a ton of yardage, but they both struggle against teams over .500.

One is clutch and very accurate. One is erratic and isn’t clutch, Simple. Not hard watch the games. Cowboys 1-6 in one score games this year. Dak hasn’t came through this year.

Yea that Dak Prescott all we ask is that he be perfect all the time. Bum can’t even do that. Clearly we need someone else.

I will tell you one thing I like about Dak. He truly masked how bad our Oline played at timeS because you can’t teach breaking “sack tackles” and making something out of nothing. Now you might say he just needs to hit his first read etc but I think this escapability quality is huge when you need to extend drives/plays
