As long as we're being honest. Honestly. It wouldn't break my heart to just let him walk and go after a QB in the draft.

But.............either way. Just don't overpay him.

He had a bad game last night no doubt. Part of that was 6 dropped passes. But he’s had a great season and will be here for years to come haters be damned.
As long a he plays against teams with under .500 records to pat his stats he’s good he is a average at best against the winners. He will be the QB for a while because of JJ stupidity and never win the big ones because the DC can’t put enough elite talent around him to prop him up. JJ mismanagement and Daks sub par play and 10 years down the road you will still be blaming everyone but Dak as the DC will still be has-beens because JJ will strap the new coach with Dak. Sad so sad. D 17 pts Capt Dak choker 3 FG , if this season proves anything it is that Dak is what he is a good back up and the scouting reports were correct, he isn’t a long term NFL starter and like it or not JJ thinks he is so the future look bleak as we all know how poor JJ is when it comes to judging football talent . JJ support of Dak should make you understand just how poor a choice Dak is for the DC.

Unfortunately a team’s success is often correlated with a QB’s performance and much of the positive vibe from Dak was the winning culture . But if this is the culture then I’m not sure if we are in any better place than we were in the last QB’s era?

By fans and media who want the views. Whats the one factor that remained the same from the Romo era? The coaching which is about to be replaced. We who have never played the game at this level have no idea how important the whole team is not just the QB. Then add in coaching and you see the evolution of the patriots. NE won 3 super bowls before Brady was Brady. They won it with great coaching stout defense and a kicker that didnt miss. People need to get all this blame the QB if they lose no matter what. IN 2014 was it Romos fault the defense gave up over 30? IN 2016 was it Daks fault Byron jones allowed a TE to get that 3rd and 20?

Every QB has just as many bad games as Dak has, the difference is coaching. The good coaches can adjust and and go with whats working. Help its QB out and his supporting cast do its part. I read here all about Dak missing a throw to Austin and Gallup. What about Gallups drop that wouldve been a TD down 8. What about Moore calling a stretch run on 3rd and 2 with a loaded box? Why not run how you been running elliot on that drive even with Pollard. The OL was getting great push.

Why not run more screens that the Eagles didnt stop every time they ran it. The problems we saw lastnight have been the same problems we seen before Dak, Elliot, and Amari were even on the team. Way before they were on the team. Last night was a "carbon fiber" loss that we have seen over the course of Garrett tenure as HC in Dallas. In close moments in close game in big games, His coaching is bad.

Dak has gotten these WRs hurt throwing the ball to a wide open player and he has to vertical leap 3 feet and reach behind as the defender catches up and takes his legs out so he lands on his head. I guarantee Amari wants to get the heck outta Dallas.
If he does then show him the door, and go with him.

I heard this morning on Fox Sports this guy Nick Wright? he said one of Dallas's options is to use the "nonexclusive franchise tag" which allow other teams to take Dak for 2 first round picks

If this is true, and we do not do it NOW, it'd be one fo the biggest mistakes ever

If we could land a stud QB in the draft with this supporting cast could probably become instant contenders.

At this point, any attempt at a Dak discussion is pointless.

If most of the QBs in this league would have to live in this scheme they would be on IR. Dak is a big guy and has taken so many hits. These QBs have been dropping like flies this yr with injuries. They wouldnt survive having to wait for routes to open up the way this offense dictates

he's too slow at finding the open receiver, he needs to speed up his reads without going into panic mode. pocket awareness is awful and his two left feet don't help him any.

One is clutch and very accurate. One is erratic and isn’t clutch, Simple. Not hard watch the games. Cowboys 1-6 in one score games this year. Dak hasn’t came through this year.

Biggest issue I have is when people base their argument using stats. If you are using stats, that tells me you aren't watching the games. You aren't watching every play.

Should some of the balls be caught even if they were crap throws? Yes... when you are paid like these guys, they should have caught a few of those. But, the one behind Gallup... even if he caught it, he was tackled instantly. If he caught it in stride, good chance for a TD. That is where you drop the stats, and stop comparing someone like Brady to Dak. When that comparison comes up, it is laughable.

I 100% know when that is used, these people are not watching the games. They are running around the house, doing other things, and catching a few plays here and there.

I watch these crap games... every play 95% of the time.

When you do that... stats aren't even brought up into the discussion.

Dak is like so many QBs we have seen. They can get hot, and they can get cold... and it happens in long streaks. When that is the roller coaster you are always on, it's time to try a new ride.

Rodgers went through a period where he was hitting people in the numbers, and they were dropping passes like crazy. So his stats in those periods look bad.

But, when you watched the games... you knew the stats were a lie.

Same with Dak... his stats are a lie.

We have exactly what his draft profile was. That is 100% total fact. He is not going to change, and like Aikman said... accuracy, and timing is not really learned at this point. You either have it or you don't.

I will take Troy's assessment over anyone on this forum lol.

Kitna made progress with Dak. It was obvious the beginning of the season. But for some reason, he has regressed.

At times he can zip the ball right on target then the next throw is far off target.

Franchise him, see what the new staff can do. One year from now we will know if it's time to go in search of a new QB.
Gee...wonder what the reason is????

Such a mystery. Couldn't possibly be a hairline fracture on his pointer finger or a shoulder injury...nope...no way. He just sucks. Yup...that has to be it.

Or try to convince him to sign a one-year deal save the franchise tag? Possibly for Cooper I think he was hurt a lot this year still does not excuse why he wasn't on the field on one of the most crucial plays of the game

The dude had a K at the end of his salary, Hell yeah he should have doing commercials

what's the issue when they're wide open and the ball in right on him and he drops them. wrs all across the league make catches that aren't perfect or great.

Let’s be honest, this past game has been an outlier. He’s been pretty damn good this year just had a HORRIBLE game bum shoulder or not.

It’s only so long fake QBs can pretend.

Dak cant run a west coast offense because he isnt a timing guy. He wants to sit back for 6 sec in a clean pocket and throw behind and over guys that are wide open. I've seen enough of Dak to know he really struggles against better defenses. That's not gonna get you far in the playoffs.

I disagree, Dak is a timing guy he’s not a read the field 4th option thrower. That’s why he’s great at short to intermediate passes and comebacks...timing. When Dak gets in a rhythm and has his timing down he is deadly (See Vikings game)
