It isn't really a tough position when you accept the fact that Dak Prescott isn't worth 30 million a year let alone 35 million a year regardless of what the QB market is. Hey if some other team wants to overpay for him go right ahead. More than the poor drafts and the bonehead decisions of trading draftpicks for receivers, the single biggest thing that has hurt this org is the decision to pay average players elite money because of this "we like our guys" philosophy. That philosophy is great if we were running a frat house but it doesn't work when you are trying to run a football team. Part of being a really good football team means that you are constantly churning the roster and getting better. This means that you are always looking for trades that make your team better. You don't overpay for middling talent and no matter how much you want to trot out Dak Prescott's stats he is a middling talent - he certainly is nowhere near the caliber of an Aaron Rodger or a Patrick Mahomes or a Tom Brady even.

Football 101: Don't overpay for middling talent.

Easily replaced by a number of FA's this off-season, he's just an average player. Thankfully, the team agrees that he's not worth what he's asking for.
Those wins vs 20-39-2 got your head big!

Bookmark this: Dak Prescott is the best QB in the national football league

best player period

You write "Dak Prescott is one of top 15-20 overall players in the NFL" in the bottom of all your posts
Yet, you just wrote above that Dak is the best QB and best player in the league.
Is Dak #1 or #15-20?

Nothing. Absolutely Nothing.

The performance from Dalton today are the type of performances that have fooled his fans and ownership.

Volume numbers against a terrible pass defense.

Dude had half almost half his passing TDs last season against teams picking 2nd and 4th in the draft.

Stat-stuffing scrub.

This is nothing new. It was the same thing his Senior Year in college, when he was supposedly the guy set to be the man in college. He couldn’t beat a ranked team and many of his numbers were padded when getting blown out. Hell, even his Junior Year, the ranked teams he beat all completely collapsed around the time Mississippi State beat them. It wouldn’t be hard, looking from the numbers, to make the case they beat a bunch of pretenders that got exposed.

And Dak isn’t really a leader anyways. Guy started throwing his teammates under the bus last year when the offense was being exposed:

https://www.inquirer.com/eagles/phi...wboys-dak-prescott-carson-wentz-20191017.html

He did the same thing when he was setting QC records in futility, before Cooper came and save him in man coverage, after Cooper yelled at him to throw him the ball against the Eagles, when Schwartz had no safety help over the top and the CBs sitting on the routes. Schwartz didn’t even do that with Goff, with all the deep cover 2.

And both of Dak and Goff always top the list of QBs that dropped the most in QB rating on their second read. Both Dak QBs Goff are essentially play-action, first read system guys.

this idea Dak would have improved with a collapsing line that was just blitzing during that two or three game stretch, is comical. Guy was staring down his WRs on the first read on play action against the Browns all day, and this was with Martin. With that line at that time, play action wasn’t even an option, because blitzes were running free reign

Being modest in the sig

Dak is in a group with Watson, Mahomes, Rodgers

w Wilson and possibly the Bills QB a notch below

Watson is the most dominant

Rodgers is the most talented

Mahomes is most lucky

Dak is the most efficient. Dak has under appreciated touch. Sometimes he has too much confidence in his abilities. He’s gotten lucky on some throws. But no QB is more efficient than Dak Special talent

Is that why he leads the league in net yards gained per attempt

The Eagles had 477 yards of offense yesterday, but the only thing that anyone is going to remember this time next year is that the Dallas Jerry's beat the Eagles. That's it. No one is going to care how many yards Jalen Hurts had or how many yards Andy Dalton had or how many rushing yards Zeke had. Just as no one really gives a damn if Dak Prescott threw for all those yards when most of that led to another loss.

Dak and Goff, purely first-read system guys. Comparing these guys to elite QBs like Russell Wilson and Mahomes is nonsense. Dak and Godd both go from top first read profession to bottom four on second.

https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-rankin...rows-patrick-mahomes-drew-brees-aaron-rodgers

And before anybody says it was last year, it’s the same this year as well at least as far as when Dan was actually playing.

As an aside, Andy Dalton was top 10 in second read rate last year with the Bengals.

Facts vs SF: Cowboys scored 17 points on a net total of 84 yards

Cluless be like: DAndy don’t waste time picking up a bunch a meaningless yards.

Say Andrew McCarron around Andy, and watch him flinch.
