Let me explain one more time why kicking that FG to go up 19-13 was not a good move

The game was in the last qtr, we had a choice between pinning the Giants deep in their own territory so we could get the ball back or force a turnover. But kicking that FG didn't accomplish anything because it still meant the Giants only needed a TD to win which they did. Who knows, we punt and get another stop and then can extend the lead to 23-13 since momenum would have been on our side.

extending the lead to 6 in the 4th qtr was stupid because it was so much time left in the game so you would think at that point you would only want to punt or score TD

FG's are fine if they are extending the lead to 9 or more.

Does anyone understand the point I am making? If the Giants get the ball on their own 10yd line they may panic and throw a INT. It;s not the same when you have GOOD FIELD POSITION

I think the OP wanted them to go for it on 4th down. Not punt. Part of his point I think.

Are you serious? You take what you get you should know better. No coach punts it in that situation. They have a kicker that can get you 3 you go get it.

But the decision is why we lost the game by..........TAKING WHAT WE CAN GET

It was a 56 yd FG which is why I was shocked he went for it. Either way it would have hurt us

1. If he missed the Giants would have great field position
2. By making it the lead only went from 3 to 6 which means a TD still would lose us the game

It does feel like the score dictates the aggressiveness level of the opponent. Who knows how the game plays out but you almost want to be down one score with the ball then up and protecting a lead

I see your point but your putting the ball in Eli's hand again with our atrocious Dline. Not a good recipe for success.

But even if they score a TD we only need a FG to win. I have no problem with taking the FG there. We didn't lose because of that. Had we not took the FG we would need a TD to win at the end

Maybe not, who's to say the Giants score when starting from their own 10yd line?

Like I said earlier, you do not leave points on the field with 14 minutes left and a swiss cheese defense. It happened to work out perfectly in the end, all they needed was a FG to win rather than a TD. Two things could have happened if they punted where you wanted to:

1. they still move down the field and get that TD
2. we could have stopped them and would have only held a 3-point lead rather than 6. With their next TD, the lead would be 4 instead of one.

In both of the above cases, more time would have been burned and Dallas may not have been in a position to try and win the game.

Now, Dallas would have had to move up the field for a TD, a FG in that case means jack.

It really is simple math here, a game winning FG is much, much more desirable than a game winning TD drive.

The 2nd to last drive with 6 minutes left was the killer. All Dallas had to do was run and milk the clock and kick the FG to win. The last drive was just a wing it and pray type of drive.
