Let me explain one more time why kicking that FG to go up 19-13 was not a good move

No Punt and force the Giants offense to drive 90 or more yds for a FG or TD.
If cowboys punted, Eli could have chewed more clock than he actually did with the td drive.

Also, with the defensive playcalling not bringing pressure, Eli would have gotten out that hole.

Well if the defense is that bad we shouldn't expect to be in the playoffs this season

I think the defense is ok to keep the Cowboy games in reach. Problem is that if they were to punt, they were not going to force a mistake from Eli because of the bend but dont break style of d.

The game was in the last qtr, we had a choice between pinning the Giants deep in their own territory so we could get the ball back or force a turnover. But kicking that FG didn't accomplish anything because it still meant the Giants only needed a TD to win which they did. Who knows, we punt and get another stop and then can extend the lead to 23-13 since momenum would have been on our side.

extending the lead to 6 in the 4th qtr was stupid because it was so much time left in the game so you would think at that point you would only want to punt or score TD

FG's are fine if they are extending the lead to 9 or more.

Does anyone understand the point I am making? If the Giants get the ball on their own 10yd line they may panic and throw a INT. It;s not the same when you have GOOD FIELD POSITION
/epic fail

I wish I could give this thread the finger

I see your point.

My concern is why the coaches are playing for FGs with a defense like we have?

We are playing not to lose and that never works in the NFL.

Garrett is abysmal.

He has no clue.

And Linehan maybe the wrong guy to be teaching DAK.

He calls a very conservative game in the second halves of games.

He starts out well..but increasingly calls short passes and b/w the tackle run plays way too much.

It was obvious Zeke was having trouble in the middle of the line and only flashed when he went off tackle.

There were no quick pitches..no quick passes to the edges..

everything was up the middle..which the JINTS STOPPED ALL GAME.

THIS IS LIKE LAST YEAR.

We have progressed nada.

If you ever get interviewed for a head coach position do not attempt to explain this philosophy.

"for now on when we have a 3 point lead let's punt instead of kicking field goals". for some reason that sounds completely ******* to me

It was a 56 yd FG which is why I was shocked he went for it. Either way it would have hurt us

1. If he missed the Giants would have great field position
2. By making it the lead only went from 3 to 6 which means a TD still would lose us the game
I see your point, and it is good thinking, but it would mean we would have to down the ball at the 10 or inside.
Could be the ball goes in the endzone with this team.
but even the 20 might be good enough.

Thing is going for 56 yard fg is risky anyway, and that late your right the 3 points didnt mean much/

I think the OP wanted them to go for it on 4th down. Not punt. Part of his point I think.
I wish that were the reason because otherwise the comment is bat guano crazy. But alas if u read it closely the OP wasn't about going for it on 4th down. Sigh.
