Let women into Augusta golf club

there might be safety issues re the latter

just because something is private doesn't mean it can discriminate, I privately own a building, should I be allowed not to rent to blacks or hispanics?

If you publicity make it available for rent, you have to make it open to anyone. If you privately rent it out without any type of advertising, you can rent it to anyone you like.

If you own the building and rent it out privately without public advertisement then yes, you have the legal right to discriminate against anybody you'd like.

Now that I think about it,this new controversy is just another prefabricated/recycled by the lame stream media cabal.

War on Women.

Right on cue.

Who would want to be in an all-male club anyway? Golf is boring enough. Throw in no women and golf is intolerably beyond boredom.

Personally, I think golf needs more women (and the more scantily clad the better).:)

Yeah, I am for dispensing with the golf part entirely.

Though I guess some actually like the game, as opposed to just using it as a business resource.

Gender based discrimination is illegal, but the "private club" good ole boys network style of control is still somehow allowed to be above the law.

It's not gender discrimination if you're a private club. Already been ruled on more than once. The Boy Scouts are an example.

I still live very near the course and I've worked there and gone there all my life....until this year. I lost my access to tickets. They're all dying and I don't know the inheritors. You can still often get practice tickets by asking for them at one of the entrances via the trusty sign. Often with a sign people will come up and offer you their tickets.

To be honest I'm not that interested any more. I like to go for a few hours and see the azaleas and course. But there's no magic there for me anymore. All the old time greats are gone. I don't know many of the players anymore.
