Opinions and ideas for what the Cowboys have done/should do this offseason, free agency and the draft have been all over the map. Seems like everyone is an armchair GM.

So I'm curious what everyone would do from this point on if you were the Cowboys' GM for the rest of this offseason.

Include any trades, free agency signings, contract extensions and as specific/generic as you want to be on the draft.

I'll go first.

1. Extend Zack Martin, freeing up more salary cap.
2. Trade for Earl Thomas. Hopefully a 3rd rounder gets it done. If not, hopefully a 3rd + a 5th or so. Worst case, I trade a 2nd rounder. Steep price, but he's worth it.
3. Sign Navarro Bowman.
4. Draft the best OG/OT on the board in the 1st round. Unless a special defensive player like Veta Via, Roquan Smith or Derwin James are available/dropped enough to where I can trade up to get him.
5. Draft the best WR on the board with the next best draft pick. JuJu was a late 2nd rounder last year. Kupp was a 3rd rounder. Both were better than every single WR taken in the 1st round.

Extend Martin
Sign bowman
Trade down from 19 to add another pick
Take best player available with top 4 picks but break ties with position of need
Trade some lower picks to get select guys in later rounds since 11 guys won’t make the team

1. Extend Zack Martin, if possible.

2. Stare down Seattle. Force them to make a decision re: Thomas - extend, release, or play out the last year of his contract. If they release him, call his agent. Otherwise, move on.

3. Take the best player available but break ties with position of need - trust your board. You spent months working on it.

4. Don't be afraid to use excess draft picks (2018 only) to trade up as players on your board slip.

5. Don't reach. Don't panic. Don't get emotional at all. Trust your scouts/draft prep.

I like what you've got here but I'd change #5 to RB.

1. Re sign Thomas
2. Trade 5th rounder maybe 4th to steels for bryant. Gives us speed on the outside. Cut t will
3. Trade or cut beasly. Move Switzer up
4. Trade for earl Thomas if they will take a 3rd
5. Draft og or ot in 1st
6. Bowman
7. Draft LB or DTin 2nd and 3rd

8. Make witten take a pay cut. Or let him go.

Extending Martin is a no brainer, that's going to get done..
I'm definitely not trading up, this team has too many holes, don't want to make the same mistake as the Claiborne fiasco of a few years back
I sit at 19, I'm not taking a receiver in a deep draft for the position (third round at the very least unless I trade back for another pick)...I'm hoping a DT(Vea or Payne), S(James)NO BRAINER for cowboys, Lb(Esch or Smith) or DE(Landry) is sitting there that I covet...if all are off the board and McGlinchy is sitting there, I seriously look at trading down a few spots and acquire more picks but if there's no suitors for a trade, I select McGlinchey, plug him in at right tackle and kick Collins back to left guard..

I agree with you except #4. They better not raft ANOTHER lineman in the 1st round. Enough is enough.

If the value is there at 19 and with Smith's ongoing back concerns, you can't rule that out...I'd take McGlinchey if he's there at 19 in a second if the top 6 defensive players the cowboys covet are gone..

I 100 % agree with your plan. No changes. I do hope we get a scat back as a change of pace RB in this draft .

1. Trade for Earl Thomas
2. Extend Zach Martin
3. Sign Bowman
4. Leave Draft to McClay (But would trade down from 19 a couple of picks to get extra pick then move up into day 2 using two 4th round picks meaning the Cowboys would get 4 players from the first 3 rounds.
5. Make super bowl travel plans

After getting Thomas and Bowman and the 4 draft picks from Thursday and Friday the Cowboys would have added 6 players who will really improve the roster.

What about Rowdy...perfect if you would get rid of Rowdy....

My first act as GM is resigning. Who the heck wants to have such a thankless position that makes football a job?
