lets be real :)

I'm new here but I've noticed that your other thread this week also ended with...

"This is not a troll post"...

Seems to me that every time someone says that, and it's preceded with comments that are passive-agressive attempts at slaming the Cowboys, it really is a "troll post"...

And to reach for the "we're not healthy line" is such a crock of crap, it's really, really weak...

Same garbage spouted by Giants' fans before last weeks game...

Yea, well if we had E.J. Whitney, this game would be a blow-out.

DOn't forget Greg Ellis, that was as big a loss as Hollis Thomas could've been.

if the saints were completely healthy i dont think we would be favored to win this game in dallas anyways. just makes things a bit more difficult for a team that has some gaping holes on defense, that are only made up for by an explosive receiving package that is out this week.

And btw. why are people responding to this thread as if i said the cowboys were garbage and we would definately win if not for injuries?

I was not attacking the cowboys. Let me see if i can rephrase what i was intending to communicate:
Due to the fact that the dallas team playing tommorow is most likely going to have the exact same roster in the playoffs, and the saints team roster in skill positions will be vastly upgraded come playoffs this game will tell you more about the cowboys than the saints most likely. I do not feel a championship caliber team will lose at home to a team as banged up as the saints.

Dallas will win, no matter how healthy the Saints are.

Again, excuses excuses excuses... Take them elsewhere!!!

Saints have Brees, and even as a Dallas fan, you can't overlook right now he is the more experienced QB over Romo. So there isn't really any excuses for the Saints. We don't know from game to game if Romo is the real deal, or will have his worst game of the year. At least with Brees, you know he will play great week in and week out. And with Bush, you guys have that game breaking threat at all times. As for us, we don't know if Julius Jones will show up and give us 20 yards rushing or go back to his rookie year form when he could give 120 yards. I won't be shocked if Dallas loses. Our team has a schizophrenic psyche sometimes. We can be as bad as we were in that Washington game in D.C. or the Giants game in Dallas. Or we can be as good as we have been the last couple games. I think this game is gonna depend on who can limit their turnovers and penalties. Whoever does that, should have the edge.

I thought this thread was titled "Let's Be Real"? Yes the Saints have Brees but this game should also BE a breeze for Dallas. the Saints are an improved ballclub with some nice upside on their offense but defensively they don't match up well and are injured at wideout so I think Dalllas will pull away by the second half.

Dallas 31 New Orleans 13

In all fairness the Cowboys have already shown they are for real. They beat the Colts and Giants two games with a lot on the line. On the other hand who have the Saints beaten?

This game will show a lot about the Saints.

We beat Phlly when they were 4-1 and had just beat Dallas the week before. You caught the Colts in thier annual season collapsing mode. They had just lost to the Titans so don't act like that win was unexpected. Saints beat the Falcons twice... who would be 8-4. We beat SF who is only 1 game back. The Giants also proved that Dallas wasn't too much for them to handle. The way I see it:

Saints, 3-1 vs NFC Playoff potential teams (4-1 if you include SF)
Dallas, 2-1 vs NFC Playoff potential teams

Colts win was great, but it means nothing unless they actually go somewhere in the postseason.

You will be silenced once and for all Sunday night, but don't worry the Saints may still host a wildcard.

I'm just saying that the Saints NFC resume is better than the Cowboys right now. I'll give props to Dallas if they can win a game in which they are 6.5 point favorites.

The Colts were undefeated when we beat them Their loss to the Titans came last week.

That's it...just go ahead and spoil everything with facts.

Actually I dont think the original poster was making excuses but trying to validate the Saints in his own mind. He believes the Saints are good team and that a loss wouldnt mean they werent one of the better teams.

With that said dont try to convince a Cowboy fan that there is a valid reason for you losing just as I will not make excuses for any loss other than the other team outplayed us.

So if you want to discuss not covertly justify your own thoughts of your teams and what a loss would mean then by all means discuss. Another thing you should avoid is "NOT A TROLL".

Bring facts not opinions. A loss to New Orleans wouldnt lessen the fact that the Cowboys are a good team. Just as Indianapolis's loss to the Cowboys made them any less of a good team. Whether you have those recievers or not isnt what will decide the game because Brew Drees can make recievers look better than they are. Just as Romo has made Crayton look better than a 7th round pick.

Cold hard facts can not be disputed, one mans opinion of the meaning of a loss can and will be. So if you are going to tell us your opinions be ready for us to call you on these opinions. If you state facts then the best possible recourse would be to state facts back hence "NOT BEING A TROLL".

Brees ain't perfect. He's had plenty of bad games. If he hadn't, he'd still be kicking it in San Diego with Roids Merriman and Touchdown Tomlinson.

Tony Romo is the real deal. Believe it.

Basically what it boils down to is these Saints fans coming here yearning for some respect. Hearing how good they are and how better still they'll be if they can beat us.

Instead all they're getting is.. We're going to hammer you. Or.. Well if you do beat us big deal.. lesser teams beat better teams in this league every week so whatever.

Oh well.. sorry for not obliging your insecurities.
