Aikman was the poster child for not turning the ball over. Never had outstanding stats, but he had the 3 stats you can't put a price on, Super bowls.

I think the evaluation is due once Romo has actually gotten back in and played some ball, a few games at least -- unless it's clearly evident he is gone as the way of the buffalo... but you're spot on Idgit. (As always) :)

Dak mania is real, and I'm not about to jump in front of this avalanche at this point, so I chose this little thread to say my piece lol

I love both guys. If Dak's better than Romo, he deserves the job. I just don't think he'll be better than Romo. People had a hard time coming to grips with how good Romo was in the first place, and they've somehow forgotten almost immediately the minute he went out.

Truth, Idgit.

We can only pray Dak's ceiling is that of Tony. Only this time the org learns from it's mistakes from Tony's time here, and builds a well-rounded team around Dak, unlike that of Tony's teams.

Did you miss what I typed?

you conveniently ignored what was said and insisted on what PFF says.

It's your world have fun with it.

I swear hiding behind the "I'm a huge Romo fan" tag while slamming the guy is getting old. The amount of disrespect this guy gets from our fan base is really sad. I like #4 but now I can't wait for 9 to get back under center just to show all the naysayers what's up.

A lot of people are showing their true colors on this board these last 4 weeks.

I look forward to the future but I want to see 9 get what he deserves. We root for 4 because he's a Cowboy, and it's pretty obvious how vile and disgusting a lot of you will be towards 9 when he returns.

Lolol chill

Was just breaking balls

I'm chill, I'm happy the cowboys won. I'm happy they can win games finally without someone not named Romo.

I'm happy that they appeared to have found a guy who not only has the physical tool set to play but the mental makeup to be the face of the franchise. That is very exciting.

So yea man I'm chill

So let me see if I have it right.

Romo is a better quarterback than Dak.
But Romo is hurt.
Dak is doing well and is showing he can be the future.
Romo is the leader of this team, but he's not the future.
The issue is if the team continues to win with Dak, do we continue Dak to the Future or do we go back with Romo figuring he can pick up where he left off two years ago.

Nice dilemma to have.

Those are gonna be some fun games to watch and see how Dak handles them, won't it!?
it might be the last two games dak plays this year so lets hope that they are winners so romo can take over and not have to win a game right off on his first start. the pressure will be tough on him against the eagles but a two game losing streak will be even tougher to deal with.

Imagine if this forum existed in 91 and Steve Buerlein beat the eagles the team aikman could never beat, won at washington, beat atlanta who aikman was hurt for the previous year, beat the steelers on thanksgiving and also then went to soldier field and won a playoff game. The first cowboys qb to win a playoff game since danny white nearly 10 years before. All the while putting up great stats and playing well in the system without giving up the ball.

Think hard and guess how this forum would be thinking.

lets hope that romo can keep what is working for us right now. the running game is going to have to be huge for us in romo first game so he does not think that he has to win the game himself. also the defense is going to have to do there part and not having to put a bullseye on romo from the start.

The argument isn't whether Romo is better at some things. The argument is that he's the better player overall. Dak's closing in that race week by week in my opinion. Today was another huge step, coming back when down two scores, starting multiple series with penalties putting us in 1st and 15 or 1st and 20. Without Dez. Without Tyron. He was impressive.

It's the big picture thing once again.

Can we in it all this year? Hell no

Are we building a future with Dak and Zeke and this offensive line? Affirmative.

Can we build a great defense in 2 years? Maybe

The Romo vs Dak is a straw man.

I just don't understand the thought process of some people...

If Dak is developing great chemistry with his teammates and more importantly, winning... why on earth would you want to mess with that?

That's my take as well. If the Dak Train is rolling, I don't think we should voluntarily take it off the tracks.

I'd ride the hot hand and let Romo continue healing, knowing fully well I might have an ace up my sleeve if needed at any time.
