I refuse to answer the troll thread about him, so here's a real one. Feel free to chime in with real analysis of Moore, no troll BS. My take is this: Moore is a long shot to even make the practice squad. I support the decision to put him in when Weeden and Cassel were sputtering. At that point, the season was lost so it didn't hurt to see what the kid had. He showed some spark and did move the ball. He made big rookie mistakes that lead to picks. He doesn't show that strong of an arm. It's very unlikely that he beats out Dak Prescott, IMO. Even Showers might compete with him. At best he may develop into a journeyman backup in the league, but I suspect he ends up playing Arena football. No shame in that. It's pro football. Maybe you think he could do better, maybe not. Post your opinions here.

You're right - Moore might not even make the team.

He's smart, but just not strong or athletic enough. Could possibly end up being JG reincarnate.

Not persuaded he's a #2 option we can be content with, but he's certainly worthy of #2 somewhere... somewhere that their QB isn't as vulnerable to injury. Moore has the much-discussed advantage here that he knows the Linehan offense so well. Put it this way. I see him as a left-handed Kase Keenum. Not exceptional, but capable in the right system and behind someone you can feel confident isn't likely to miss many games.

I think he'd be a solid backup just not here in Dallas.

We need someone who can extend plays because the offensive system doesn't get players open.

We take what the defense gives and when they don't give it we need a QB that buys time.

This is why I wanted Wentz so bad. He could make plays within the system and also has the ability to create in his own.

Great #3 QB. Smart, able to pick up schemes well and run any offense on a scout team. That has some value.

But that's it

Moore hasn't done anything to deserve a thread. Need to wait until this summer and see how the backup competition goes.

I suspect that they plan to use him as the number 2.

Anyway, the OP mentioned him not even making the practice squad, but I think he may not even be eligible for the PS anymore anyway.

I guess being the best qb in college football isn't worth anything.

This is a dumb thread, but I'll bite everyone does dumb things in their life from time to time, so if you live for a very long time then you will do dumb things many many times.
Anyway, Moore is a legit Backup QB, sure he does not have the prototypical size and arm strength, but neither does Romo, or Brees, Montana, and so many others.
He is intelligent(very) the one thing that you want your QBs to have the most.

The closer to the ball the smarter you want your players to be. Example: the center, he handles the ball just as much as the QB, actually than the QB, of course the QB the MLB. Okay, the QB, the Center, the MLB and the FS, you want those guys to have a very high IQ, they put people in the place.

Back to Moore, the guys is a legit backup QB and if we had played him sooner , I truly believe we would have won more games last season. there is nothing wrong with Moore. yes, Prescott will eventually take the 2 spot, but not this season maybe even not the next season, but the season after that heck Prescott probably will have the 1 spot.

He lacks experience and it showed the 3 games he played last season, but those games also showed that he has what it takes to play in the NFL, even if it is backup

Will improve more than fans expect in 2016 and will look a lot better with legitimate starting WR and RB around him if needed.

Yeah, I want to see what he looks like in pre season games.

I think people judge him too harshly for last year.
It was his first NFL games, playing on a team that didnt really want to win games.

Having elliot and dez healthy would make a difference.

But that said the thing I didnt like was he seemed to not have enough pocket awareness or movement,
and is slow on his feet moving around.

But for a guy playing his first NFL games, he looked pretty good, all things considered.
Tony has 10 years as a starter and that is what people are used to.
Dak has yet to play a nfl game so curious to see how he handles it in PS.

He's Linehan's pet cat, if u watch the games he played, he was given routes to fit his noodle arm. No other back up was given options to fit his strengths, for crying out loud when Cassel arrived, nobody gave him the time of day. The bottom line, Moore has less skill than Garrett had.....enough said.
