Brugler is in touch with the Browns plans and he said he would be surprised if he was the pick. He also said he thinks the Browns might try to trade down again. From everything I've heard, they want to accumulate as many picks as possible.

Honestly, that was my own thought on their plans as well. The Moneyball guys want to give themselves as much draft ammo as possible. My own precision was that Jackson likes Hackenberg and feels he can 'fix' him and he'd be their choice, but I also saw that many felt they coveted Lynch at the #8 spot.

The best bet would be a team like Chicago or maybe NO coming up if Lynch is the target.

A moderate drop with two teams looking to plan ahead and get out from under big quarterback contracts. I can see the possibility for either one.

NYJ and Buffalo are two other possibilities, but neither are going to want to pay the price that move would take for the 3rd QB in the class.

I think the Jets have gambled and lost that someone would trade for Wilkerson and pay his huge contract demands in the process. I see them moving down before moving up. And I think Buffalo will most likely sit tight and choose from one of the quarterback leftovers like we will.

I hope we trade down and quite a bit to. I would be fine with going back as far as 20. Get some quality picks in the process and take Hogan as the developmental qb.

Broaddus has been saying for a while that the Jets want to add picks as well. Apparently he's friends with the GM. I really don't know where Lynch is going to end up going at this point.

When you consider what it costs in terms of draft picks to get into position to have a shot at a franchise QB, plus the lack of quality QB prospects coming out in the near future, Lynch at 4 may not be an awful move.

There's an excellent chance that Lynch ends up being better than Goff or Wentz if he gets in the right situation and is able to sit for two years, as he would here.

It would be nice to deal down for him, but I don't think he makes it out of the top 10.

Someone like Ramsey is tempting, but really, how much impact can he have with a suspect pass rush and the way the rules are stacked against DBs?

It's all about the QB in today's NFL, and I'm up for taking a shot at finding it in Lynch, when it wouldn't cost 5-6 premium picks in a trade to get him.

Sounds like this new group with the browns might be what finally helps Cleveland.

I thought it would be dumb for them to stay put and take a QB when they did not have much to help them...I think that is why so many QBs fail there.
I also thought that if they did stay put...they would have been best served to take Tunsil even if they did have Thomas as Thomas has not been happy of late.

I think the browns guys are going to get as many draft picks as they can and hope that they are bound to hit some quality with some quantity.

They have to know that what the team has tried in the past has not worked for them so a different approach has to be tried.

Oh and I say if the Cowboys like Lynch and think he is a Franchise Player...go ahead and take him at four and don't get cute by trading down and someone else taking him.

That is IF they think he is a franchise player.

Might shock some to hear me say that :D

I'm hoping, then take Zeke

If we take Zeke, we'll have him for 4 years max. Then it'll be Murray all over again cause there's no way we're paying $8 mil for a running back when he's due for his next contract.

RB's are available all over the draft.

Yeah, I can't really tell the enormous difference between most of the players considered top 10 picks and those in the top 20. Not in this draft.

I agree with you on virtually everything you've said, other than them staying put and taking Tunsil. It goes back to the same 'multiple needs' reason for not taking a quarterback. Their roster is just completely bereft of talent and they need all the picks they can get. That's why I can easily see them trading down again and again.

We don't know that. Others like 49ers might trade up to make sure they get their guy. Lynch at one point was considered number 1 QB in the draft. We have no idea if he goes in the 2nd round or top 5.

Then the NFL season finished and the cottage industry started talking to execs and scouts in the draft process. He then dropped.

The dog wags the tail not the other way around.

Not to quibble, but we'd have him for 5 years (can exercise 5th year option on a 1st rounder). That said, I don't see JJ taking him...he wouldn't give Murray a second contract after he set a franchise record, he's not going to spend a high pick AND pay big bucks to a rookie RB...JMO.

6 years if he is a 1st round pick that we pick up his 5th option year and franchise him the next year.
