Lets just be honest... Wade is out of here

Now I knows it the first game and "lets just see what happens". But you get the sense the wheels are really gonna come off this year (shame it has to happen same year as new statium). But I like to take a refreshing realistic approach to things...even if in my heart I want this team to run the table and shut everyone up....but this is what I see:

** Roy Williams just isnt that guy. I dont mind the committee WR thing...but two 1st rounders is tough for guy who seems sensative and lazy.

** The offensive line is fragile again. Just seems like short while ago Dallas sorted this out by spending big bucks on Davis but this line has regressed (sporano anyone?). They lost there aggression and that is a concern...they are still huge.

** Pash rush still is missing something. We have best pass rushing LB in football with Ware. Spencer looks better than Ellis and Ratliff is active in the middel...but I just think this defense is missing that large, physical interior lineman.

** The draft...its looks horrible at this stage and Dallas was really looking to that to address the special teams. If special teams are not improved the draft was a bust plain and simple.

** Intangibles. Its what I think this team is missing more than anything. When you watch the Giants you can feel their confidence. Dallas plays like it is waiting for other shoe to drop - I put that squarly on coaching staff. It needs a younger head coach who will instill aggression and risk taking. Dallas just has that look like they have huge bulls eye on their chest and everyone is taking a shot. This was once the case years ago and Dallas brought in Jimmy Johnson and the atmosphere changed over night. I am ok with Shanahan but a younger aggressive coach might be what this teams needs most. The atmophere seems lathergic.

And your you may be overanalyzing in your last point, knowledge is more important. Id rather a coach who can cut out dumb penalties and get guys where theyre supposed to be

A couple of points were off. Didn't use two ones for royw and the best pass rush last year is still missing something? The defense needs to generate to's but pass rush is fine.

Wade is gone if team does not make a decent run in playoffs though.

Second, we led the league in sacks. What more do you want from the pass rush?

Third our Sts looked much improved this preseason over last preseason. It will help to have a competent ST coach and Buehler doing KOs.

People are obligated to being miserable because they don't want to allow themselves be happy or optimistic. Then, in case the season goes to hell in a handbag, they can be back here saying how they called in a mile away.

Most of those folks are mysteriously absent when their garbage gets flushed like yesterday's turds.

There has been success in 3-4 not big guy in middle.

Special teams already improved with Bueler kickoffs. Too early to judge draft as whole yet.

Not ready to crown the NFL young coach experiment a success. Everyones jumping on this bandwagon now that Tomlin won a superbowl, but you must know that steelers have had consistency on their defense for very long. Young coach means learning time, and by the looks of your nitpicking you have no patience for growing pains. Don't see why a new coach is going to help the cowboys in your eyes.

I'm usually the glass is half-empty kind of guy and I was mad as hell at our draft "strategy" this past April. In fact, I generally distrust most of Jerry's personnel decisions.


BUT....... I feel really good about this year's team and our chances. Optimism from a pessimist.
