I think a lot of Cowboys fans have gone insane because of not winning a playoff game for so long.

Could be the root of the problem, but then again this team could start out 10-0 before the first loss.Upon that loss chaos would reign again.Just the nature of this board I guess.

the Problem with the Boys passrush is the push up the middle... when you have 2 speed rusher you have to have a push up the middle. Ppl give Spears and his mates the 3-4 excuse, if Rat can get sacks why cant the rest of them at least force the QB out the back of the pocket.

STeams improved! its been 1 offseason, Ill wait till after the preseason to agree with assestment.

I don't know I'm a realist. I think Dallas will go out and play these games if they play up to their ability they have a good chance at having a good season, if they don't play up to their ability they will once again under achieve and this team will likely go through some big changes. I honestly think there is enough talent on both sides of the ball to win a lot of games but they will have to go out and earn them.

I don't look at the schedule and put W's and L's next to each game I base my prediction on the talent on the team and realize out of 16 games we will win some we should lose and lose some we should have won but the overall talent yes I think can win big games.

Tampa is a "must win".

:D

Tampa is a more important game than ones vs an AFC team but not as important as an NFC East team. At least that is how I view it.

Division games #1
Conference games #2
vs AFC #3

FIFY... but I don't know why you would put it on the coaching staff that you're scared.
It needs a younger head coach who will instill aggression and risk taking.
Like Tom Coughlin?

There's alot of truth in those words, that's why they play the game.I'm sure that not one fan in Detroit would have believed 0-16 last year. They might have believed losing record, but not 0-16.I'm just as sure that not one person from New England would have believed that they would miss the playoffs when the season started, the same thing could be said for Dallas last year as well.It will(as always) be an interesting season, hopefully a productive one.

Every year for me its SuperBowl or bust....

I think this year like the past two......we have just as much chance as anyone to win it all.

I like the coaching.....I like the talent.

Injuries aside.......its going to be a interesting year. We play in a tough division.....but imho we match up well.

RW just needs to move the chains....Felix and Bennett need to make a impact....our Pass Rush will be fine......but our young corners need to step up.

and most of all.......Romo needs to limit his mistakes.

None of that is unreasonable to think.

if we dont win a playoff game this year i dont think there's any doubt its Wade's last year. i dont even think its a sure thing we make the playoffs since i have us at 9 wins so i think 80/20 that Wade does Not return.

I'm excited about the season because that's the way it should be with a new season upon us. We all love the Cowboys and love to watch them play.

But the fact is Wade is a HC who has never won a playoff game and he's been a HC now for 7+ seasons. That to me seems like a trend. I'm hoping the new and improved Wade is the difference this season. We shall see.

ROFL.

Wood I grant you about 1% of that drivel.

Coughlin was all but fired and Eli was called all sorts of unpleasant names by teammates like Tiki Barber before they got hot and won the Super Bowl.

Intangibles is what this off-season was about. Team-building through chemistry and a focus on football. The mediots wailing about the 7 wins they foresee was the main ones noting ho football-centric everything has been.

Wade is gone if the team fails but that applies to at least 10 coaches. He at least has the talent to make a stand with. How is Zorn supposed to keep a job?

Truth is the media is miserable, the team is all but boring now and the job market for journalist is as bleak as ever. So they do what comes natural, go for shocking to get a response.

How many years before Landry won a playoff game?

Shanahan was in his 5th season.

Bill Walsh won 3 Super Bowls which is amazing in 10 years but you know he only won a playoff game in one other season of his career for 6 years with zero playoff wins???

Winning playoff games is not easy. Wade was very close twice and he certainly has experiences wins in the playoffs as a DC on teams propelled by their defense.

Quoted for truth.

The obvious irony is that it is never a positive thread in which a positive member calls themselves a realist.

You aren't serious in comparing Wade to 3 head coaches with 7 SB wins among them are you? I mean 2 of those guys are HoF HCs.

Come on, I love the Cowboys as much as anyone in the world but even a Cowboy fan should be able to see that although Wade is a pretty good HC he's not in the league of Landry, Walsh and even Shanahan. I don't care how long it took those guys to win their first playoff game.

you misunderstand... he is not saying that wade is comparable to them, he is saying that a hard time winning playoff games early does not necessarily show the whole picture, or mean it wont happen, you can't necessarily say a coach is bad on account of that.. as the other coaches mentioned have proven.. if i flip a coin 4 times and it is heads each time, that doesn't exactly mean it can't land on tails..

Good point and I don't disagree.

My point was that Wade is what he is, a very good DC and a good HC. I just don't see him in the same class of the greats like Landry, Walsh, etc. I think most anyone that follows football would agree with that statement.

But I'm pulling for the new and improved Wade to lead us to Miami this year.

Wade is certainly 'dead man walking', atm...However, not everything is his fault...He can't be faulted for some of Romo's miscues and he can't be faulted for a lot of the draft picks.

The penalties and general charmin ultra softness perhaps but not everything

Now I knows it the first game and "lets just see what happens". But you get the sense the wheels are really gonna come off this year (shame it has to happen same year as new statium). But I like to take a refreshing realistic approach to things...even if in my heart I want this team to run the table and shut everyone up....but this is what I see:

** Roy Williams just isnt that guy. I dont mind the committee WR thing...but two 1st rounders is tough for guy who seems sensative and lazy.

** The offensive line is fragile again. Just seems like short while ago Dallas sorted this out by spending big bucks on Davis but this line has regressed (sporano anyone?). They lost there aggression and that is a concern...they are still huge.

** Pash rush still is missing something. We have best pass rushing LB in football with Ware. Spencer looks better than Ellis and Ratliff is active in the middel...but I just think this defense is missing that large, physical interior lineman.

** The draft...its looks horrible at this stage and Dallas was really looking to that to address the special teams. If special teams are not improved the draft was a bust plain and simple.

** Intangibles. Its what I think this team is missing more than anything. When you watch the Giants you can feel their confidence. Dallas plays like it is waiting for other shoe to drop - I put that squarly on coaching staff. It needs a younger head coach who will instill aggression and risk taking. Dallas just has that look like they have huge bulls eye on their chest and everyone is taking a shot. This was once the case years ago and Dallas brought in Jimmy Johnson and the atmosphere changed over night. I am ok with Shanahan but a younger aggressive coach might be what this teams needs most. The atmophere seems lathergic.

you first show your exaggerations by doubling the RW price tag................

you then complain about the pass rush that led the league in sacks last season

i thing you are the one who worries about the other shoe dropping......

NFL is obviously not your thing...maybe try tennis

Well, he is on to something. As of right now, Wade won't be back next year. This is the last year of his contract. So he may have stumbled upon some sense of the truth there.

Will Wade be back? Only Jerry knows what it will take for that to happen. If we win a playoff game, I think yes.

I also hate "realist" fans. It's a contradiction in terms. I am a homer. I see the glass full with this team, every year, especially this time of year. I think that's what being a fan is.

Now I will have to say that I hated Parcells, but I was still optimistic each year about the team.

I don't mind criticism, but at least make valid points. Do a little googling before you post your opinion. And hey, when all else fails, grab a glass of cool aide and join the rest of us.
