Until they are signed they are free. I'm sure teams are interested in players that's what free agency is all about

So you see Dallas paying these players....LOL:lmao::lmao2::muttley:

This is what you will see instead...

Sure dude whatever you say

Seriously, what in the world would make you think Dallas will break the bank for Hayward or compete with other teams for Fairley?

Outside of a few bottom feeder players, we have every indication that they will wait until the prices drop like they have actually said accordingly.

I don't know anything about Hayward but I bet he's got warts too. If Carr can play for cheap I would keep him since he's reliable. I'll draft his future replacement.

Carr won't restructure so he's never going to play for cheap. He's also not reliable. So with no restructure possible and the fact he's mediocre to bad, see ya......

Tough to refute his comments though. If there is multiple teams in on guys like Fairley and Heyward, the Cowboys will and have shown they will bail out. They won't get in bidding wars.

I've said it multiple times, but look at last year. McFadden and Hardy were their big signings and both guys had little to no suitors.

They just don't seem keen on going after guys who might have their price driven up by competition.

After seeing how much money mediocre talent got yesterday and looking at that list.....
Let's hope for some June 1st cap casualties.
I hope the coaches can coach up our guys this year.

Sometimes I feel everyone on this board should have to do a mandatory! Everyone should have to listen
to Stephen when he talks at the Sr. Bowl or the Combine. The Cowboys FO is going to let the market
for players fall to them not chase it. They are through with setting high market prices for players. They
will wait and see who remains and wants to take a small two-three year deal for reasonable compensation.
The team is now trying to build the future though the draft like most other smart teams do. You buy bridge
players in FA that can serve as placeholders until you can draft and train their replacements.

Sean Smith is the best of that bunch. I think Smith and Ayers would be nice. I was a believer in Coples but it seems he doesn't care much about football.

.

Then taking a QB at 4 should very much be on the table. If the draft is for building for the future and a QB like Wentz or Goff would be high on their board and they think could be a future franchise QB, then they should take the QB. If they are truly building for the future through the draft, that is.

But that's not what Jerry said. They have a 3-4 year window with Romo and have to win now and as such they can't afford to take a QB at 4, they need a positional player at that spot.

Well if you are in win now mode, you probably also shouldn't totally take yourself out of the mix for any prime free agent then. Doesn't mean you should throw money around like candy on the first day, but you also probably shouldn't fold up like a cheap suit if you have to overpay just a little for a guy like Miller, who they clearly liked.

And let's also point out that this new strategy of not paying for any prime free agents has been in effect for a few years now and what has that gotten the Cowboys? One playoff win. That's it.

Smith or Heyward are very enticing but............ I suspect both will be pricey relative to what the Cowboys are willing to pay.

This is kind of like that exercise we do every April after the first three rounds are over.

We get all excited. We prepare lists.

Then we get socked in the gut with Matt Johnson or something.

This thread is over and you done such a great job with that post that I give you not one...but two humorous animated gifs featuring a panda bear...
